Rosemary Brown speaks as flood water rises outside her property in Brechin, Scotland, as Storm Babet batters the country.
Flood warnings are in place in Scotland, as well as parts of northern England and the Midlands. Thousands were left without power and facing flooding from "unprecedented" amounts of rain in east Scotland, while Babet is set to spread into northern and eastern England on Friday.

I’d say current headline leaves it open to interpretation rather than if it was ‘woman with seven cats stuck…’ then it’s just being stuck by the storm as are all her neighbours I guess 😂

It flooded 7 years ago in the exact same place. Then they built "flood defences" Now its flooding again. I am not a qualified engineer, but I would take a wild guess that the wall needs to be higher. Just saying.

When i drove for Stagecoach i used to have this lady on the local bus service in Brechin, such a lovely lady who absolutely adored her cats. I hope that she along with everyone else get the help and support they need, i can't imagine what it must be like to be in this situation, losing everything, i certainly will be thinking of everyone affected and count myself very lucky to get away relatively unscathed. Let's just take a moment to think about these poor folk and tell them they will be ok and that we are all thinking of them .

I was in that street in brechin very recently, that is a crazy amount of flooding, to put into perspective, that's about 3 to 4 meters above usual levels, crazy.

the problem is bigger, it's the same every year. Floods are caused by the fact that rivers are not deepened in the same way as water channels, no retention reservoirs are built. Politicians prefer to blame climate change because it doesn't cost anything and people experience flood dramas every year.

Seven cats? Was she one of the wives of the man who was going to St Ives? That flooding is scary though. I don't know how I would manage, at least I am in a relatively safer part of the country.
