This is nuts in the best possible way.

You’re not her caretaker, you’re her family.

I prefer that wild animals stay wild but this woman is doing it right. She refuses to leave that squirrel locked up in a cage

These are the types which were CERTAINLY not supposed to be “wild”/on their own. She is not missing out in being wild at all... Other than her perhaps having some babies....she is obviously very happy (and as exampled by her helping herself to the cup of tea). 🐿

I love the way she talks to Sweet Pea. It's so gentle and sweet. I remember being in a park in North London some 5 years ago, and I sat on a bench, and about three grey squirrels came up and one sat with me on the bench, so I gave him a bit of crisps I had in my bag, emboldened by this the others came closer! I got told off by this dude who said I was a freak because I was baby talking to the squirrel, and I thought I'd sooner be a freak than talk to you or anyone else in infernal cesspit London.

It makes me happy. I raised two squirrels and I just realeased them on a Oak tree in my land . Today is the third night they sleep outside and I feel like a mother with broken heart 💔

Squirrels are amazing! I saved an older one out of a drain pipe a few years ago. I heard some scratching noses and had to take the entire pipe apart and the little guy let me hold him in the car to the vet! After some rehab it was released back into the wild. If you ever are presented with a chance to save a life please do so!

Omgoodness 😍 I raised an orphaned squirrel long time ago, I named him louie I'd bottle feed him and he loved cheetos ( lil bits ) they really do have unique personalities for sure.

We love our rescued squirrel. We tried to release her but she was terrified outside. She's very happy with us. I've had many pets but she is one of the best!

Warning long post ahead. This is a story of how I made friends with a squirrel, along with many other animals and birds around my house. I lived in a house across the street from a state park and it's ranger (we were friends and would go to the gun range together) in the Oakland Hills. One day I saw two squirrels chasing each other around over territory in my front yard outside my bedroom window. Soon after, one chased the other into the street and kept going after the other squirrel even when he retreated. He was suddenly hit by a passing car. I watched as he was caught by the front tire, spun around a fill circle and slammed into the wheel well before landing on the pavement. Luckily he survived and ran back up the tree just outside my bedroom window at eye level. It was dazed and trying to regain his/her bearings. There was a large area of fur removed from his back due to the friction of that car's tire. Bet that really must have hurt 😖! Poor thing. I wanted to help so I started leaving out shelled peanuts and a bowl of water for him. I didn't have a screen on my window, so he would come up on my window sill each day wanting more. I once came in my room and found my coffee can were I kept my peanuts in on it's side with the squirrel munching on them. He freaked out and hid under my bed and desks making threatening noises at me as to say, "Stay away!" I had to build a makeshift ramp to my open window to help him back out. He then must have figured out that I was ok cause he stayed on my window sill and asked for more peanuts 😅! He was my daily visitor for years after thatI then had to deal with the other animals too wanting peanuts especially the blue jays. I gave up after trying to shoo them away. Turns out they are quit smart. Even polite. They would patiently wait for me to wake up before asking for peanuts and wouldn't steal the squirrel's share like before. They would actually hold the peanuts up high in the air each time making sure I saw it, kinda like their way of saying thank you. Once they actually showed me how the eat the peanuts. They would hold it between their feet, crack the shell open and remove each of the 2 nuts (one at a time). It would then break the nut into quarters pieces before downing them. The blue Jay would look up at me often, like saying, do you see? At least I like to think so. I had all kinds of visitors outside my bedroom window ranging from a family of possums to a skunk. The possums would pass by my window at night and the to small babies would hide behind a tree root and curiously peek out at me before their parents would call for them to come along. As for the skunk (it was funny), I was having a smoke late at night where I would hang my upper body out the window to keep the smoke away from my room (well mostly). I'm a LVN nurse now so I finally quit. Anyway, I heard some rustling under me, looked down and saw the skunk. I gently said, "Hellow there". It went, "EEK!" and ran under my wooden deck about 8 feet away. I was luck lucky it didn't try to spray me. I gently cooed it to let him know I was friendly and tossed some peanuts by the deck. I saw a little black paw slowly slide out, take the peanut and would then hear crunching noises. He later came back a few more times. Once he/she even brought a mate. Well.......that's my little story of when I lived near the woods. Sorry for the long post but just felt like sharing with the class 😁🐿.

I wish the Mama's of all these pets could know that they're all doing okay.

I just released my first two baby squirrels. It has been wonderful. They have stayed close and they still come to my catio for feedings and I have special bonds with both of them. It is illegal in Vermont to have wildlife as pets, but I am getting my wildlife rehab license and am being supervised and apprenticing for a licensed rehabber at the moment. Squirrels do not make great pets and are food agressive and very destructive. However if they cannot be released they are loving and sweet. I commend this woman for taking beautiful care of this sweet squirrel. They can live many years and need very specialized care. I will share that they poop on the fly and I'm finding it EVERYWHERE. haha. Squirrels are wonderful. Drive slowly in areas where you see them.

How adorable is that little squirrel! How can you not fall in love with her? That nice lady saved her from certain death, and gained a wonderful pet. Thankfully her pretty mom is also smart and compassionate. I love the way she doesn't lock Sweet Pea in a cage, a squirrel needs to roam and jump. Common sense is still alive and well thank goodness. I feel the same about my free range ferret. Having trained her since she was a kit, she’s very similar to a cat. I couldn’t imagine keeping her caged all day. 💜 She brings us so much joy, we are grateful to God for her. Animals are such a blessing.

When a noise scares him and he is out of his cage, he looks for me to cling to. He likes the cats in the house. He liked our rabbitbefore he passed away last year. But i'm his world. I rescued a baby gray squirrel from a tree job I did. My family raised it for months till he got Big. We named him Smokey the gray squirrel. He was a very happy little dude. He needed to be with other squirrel's, so we took him to Fox ridge state Park and left him with food at a base of a tree he was doing flips on. My GF cried when we left him. That was 4 year's ago. He's probably a great grandpa know. 😁

Squirrels are seriously some of the most intelligent creatures I've ever seen. If you want to see for yourself go watch Mark Robers squirrel obstacle course video. Its absolutely insane and amazing. When you see what these squirrels are capable of it will blow your mind.
