Looks like Mum and her grown ups... Seeing the way they behave they must have been socialised with humans, they probably were left behind... But looks like they found the right person! My strays wouldn't come near the food when people were around (except for one kitten out of 18), including me for quite some time, although they were used to seeing me...
What a great attitude this lady has towards cats and probably most critters. We need many more people like her. We need them to protect the kitties and keep them from harm.
if you have the time and the money you can make a difference. it is a big responsibility, but forces you into letting go of greed and selfishness. that changes your whole personality.
there was this cat in the neighborhood and we (me and my brother) called her Sammy and everyone gave her a lot of respect she'd come over like she owned the place and just chill we'd give her food she had to kittens but they grew up so Sammy and the gang moved and I was pretty sad but I hope Sammy's happy and well
@@samanthahowse570 There's an old Hebrew saying that, dependent upon translation, reads "he whom saves one life, saves the world entire." Now, obviously, that isn't literal. But saving that person's/animal's life can be said to equate to saving _their_ world ... I once knew an old German woman, of Jewish decent, that somehow managed to escape to England, just prior to the beginnings of The Holocaust, but not without losing a significant portion of her family. Yet, despite that, she was gracious, humble, and without a shred of rancour. Her level of magnanimity was such, that I strongly got the impression that she did blame her fellow Germans, per-se, for what happened, but rather saw her birth nation, being led by a mad man straight into the abyss. Even now, decades later, in both Germany, and Poland - where most of the death camps were - scars run deep ... Forgive the dark tone of this reply, but one has to imagine if that amazing woman didn't open her heart to those five cats, given that feral/stray cats have a way lower lifespan than your average housecat, who knows what may have become of them ... she did save their worlds, entire ...
When I moved in here, the cat that had been hanging around walked straight in. The person showing me the house said previous tenants abandoned him and he was getting beat up by the neighborhood cats and wasn't doing well. So we let him live with us and named him and loved him for many years until he passed, Woobs was a beautiful little boy. I still miss him very much.
Before Covid I worked at a Cat Shelter and you wouldn’t believe how many cats we got in because a tenant or home owner moved out and just left their cat or cats behind. It’s heart breaking. When I was little we adopted a cat that was left behind by her previous owners. She was locked in the apartment for almost 2 weeks. She apparently lived off of cockroaches and toilet water. Poor girl. She was less than a year old when she was found and given to the shelter, then we adopted her. Her whole life if she saw us putting things in boxes she would start panicking, running around the house frantically, panting, etc. We all felt so bad for her. We moved a lot for dad’s job, so we started packing her stuff first, very obviously, and in the middle of the living room. That calmed her down a LOT. It reassured her that she was coming too.
@ziggy vonmars Shame on Woobs previous 'owner'. What a POS. I got a bit teary eyed when you said he was getting beat up by the neighborhood cats. Rest in Paradise, Woobs.
Thank you for taking that poor boy in and loving him - you gave him a happy life. Sorry for your loss of sweet Woobs, he was lucky to be part of your family.
That is honestly super cute and the fact that she actually turns her shed into a home for them means she cares about them. Who knows, other people may actually shoo them away and not care
We have a sweet, talkative little cat that comes around. I am allergic but will sit and pet her any way. My neighbor shoos her away. Thinks he is a real tough guy. Real jack @ss. Most people suck...
I feed a little black cat someone left where I live. Recently 2 people with 3 or 4 cats quit feeding them (bc they can't afford weed if they feed their cats) so I feed them daily too. The cats are all older it's real sad...one has a tumor & hyperthyroidism. I also put heated cathouses in the shed for strays in winter. I have 3 of my own. I'm old tho so I can live on veggies & coffee.
@Deborah, they sure did, just like they did my last kitten I helped, left starving, injured, flea and lice ridden last February in a field to freeze to death.
Trying to do more, hoping a landlord will let me put up shelters in a trailer park. 2 feral and 1 semi-feral who were fixed but left to struggle on their own. It’s a dangerous area for them, lots of homeless and vandals. I can’t take them so their future doesn’t look good. The one person feeding is unreliable and will abandon them. But I am helping in other ways. Thank you as well for your concern, comments in favor of the animals encourage others to do more.
You can tell right away this lady likes cats and is happy to share her house with them. She will be a great caretaker for these kitties as long as they live.
@@Just999Me Exactly! I was thinking the same thing too! These cats were super vocal and friendly immediately upon meeting her. She is an awesome and kind hearted young woman to care for these cute cats!
Lounging Areas are supremely important to cat habitat. It's surprising as to how much care and thought goes into choosing where cats bed down or simply lounge about. I adore felines..
What she doesn't know is, she doesn't only have five cats in this apartment.. they're actually hundreds of cats that come in identical sets of five, after having read all of the positive reviews of the garage on Airbnb, Trip advisor and Vrbo 🤷🏿♂️
Such a nice lady. She's given up her back garden/patio and gym for this motley crue of sweet cats. Cats cab sense good people, so I'm glad she's been chosen.
And that is precisely WHY she was chosen!! I wish more people could see (and consequently experience) the immeasurable benefits from being kind to other creatures they come upon.
@@theangriestcatintheworld I was chosen by a group of exotic Hybrid wildcats Serval X Chaus Cat that were tossed out of a car off the highway down the embankment back of my house. EXTREMELEY HIGH MAINTENENCE,!! Ignorant people who thought they were cool house kitties didn't do their research & were dissapointed .A flock of feral Rare heritage breed ducks decided they were tired of wold life on the lake and moved into my duck pens & told Me that they're not going anywhere, that they are domestic breeds and want to stay that way... domesticated!!...so I've accommodated all of these rare animals ( at great expense) that found me in the middle of nowhere in an extremely rural area. My 3 boys all came to me like this. Just showed up in my yard and basically said, "Hooman! Hey! Yeah, you! You're going to care for me now, k? It's getting late so hurry up and get my dinner. I'll wait here".
WOAH WOAH WOAH!!! Let me get this perfectly straight: You comment something that is completely unrelated to the fact that I have two HAZARDOUSLY HOT girlfriends? Considering that I am the unprettiest RU-vidr worldwide, it is really incredible. Yet you did not mention it at all. I am VERY disappointed, dear cib
@@AxxLAfriku ohhhhh right your the dude who cries about how people don't accept the fact you have 2 girlfriends, my advice dude, don't care about other people
So cool! My cousin did something similar. A mother cat disappeared, leaving all five kittens in my cousin's backyard. She turned her patio and yard into 'kitty city', with a little cat house for each of them, water and food, and heated warmers in winter. She got them all spayed at a few months old and they lived in her yard, never even trying to leave. That was 18 years ago. There is just 'the old man' left - last of the litter, but they all had a great life. 'The old man' decided he finally wanted to come inside and is living his best last few years by the fireplace on a soft rug.
What a great story! I have strays and am doing the same. I know I need to get them spayed and neutered but they don't let me touch them yet. Plus there is no help I can find. I am one step away from them being safe and that is getting them fixed. Wish me luck. Your cousin and you are great.
This reminds me of my garage cat, she showed up one day and never left. I feed and water her and she has her own cat house within the garage and she can come and go as she pleases from a cat door. She sometimes brings friends and they're not always cats lol. 🐈⬛🐈🦝
@@roseangela2797 she has a place to live and she's healthy and fed. I tried to let her in and she wouldn't use the litter box. So sorry if I don't want my house to smell like cat piss. I'm such a terrible person for giving a random cat shelter and food though.
@@betsysipe5512 ignore the person you're doing a great job. I suggest if you have not bring the kitty to the vet for their shots. If it's too much money then it's okay but I'll say to atleast try to get them a rabies shot and FVP vaccine shot is very important
I have a feral black cat that has lived in my garage for two years, he's free to come and go as he pleases. He now has a feral cat friend that lives with him and they love each other. :)
Same! One rainy day, this tiny orange thing cried out, hungry and wet. Couldn't have been more than 3 months old. I picked him up, dried him off, introduced him to the feral shelter we have on our porch (cardboard box stuffed with old towels), and set out food next to the water bowl. 30 minutes later when I went inside, he waltzed right on in right behind me. I tried to put him back outside due to him needing to be vaxxed and snipped. That lasted all of three months. This arctic blast hit us here in SE Texas and my husband didn't want to risk the kitten freezing in sub-30 temperatures. He is now Bond...James Bond...and is every bit as sweet, clever, and charming as his namesake.
They look like they have little notches in their ears. That means that they have already been part of a 'neuter and release' scheme. Had they not already been neutered they would probably have been somewhat more feral in their behaviour.
@DV8 *** Whose fault is that? Certainly not the cats. Mother nature made it that way and YES its a bummer of epic proportion to see a cat kill a bird. But I've seen cats attacked by raccoons, lifted up by hawks. No its not pretty or fair. We just have to do the best we can.
@@robyndismon394 - Thank you! I've been following the declining bird population for the past two decades, and found, and FINALLY Audubon agrees - that's it's _habitat loss, pesticides, poisons_ that is decimating the bird population, and wildlife as a whole. NOT cats! But it's much easier to blame cats, who do take a bird now and then, then to change what humanity is doing to this Earth 🙀
@DV8 *** Please stop with that bogus study! Humans have destroyed the homes of animals and birds more than any cat on this planet. There are no sparrows in my country anymore. I guess all the cats in the wild ate them, right? 🤦♀️
My hubby built the coolest fort for my child 15 years ago, which was never played in by anyone but the local stray cats. So at least someone appreciated all his hard work! BTW, we've been feeding, keeping them warm and TNRing them all these years.
Thank you for your kind heart! People only see feeding them as help and don't think any further. Tnr is so important! I really hope the woman in the video did the same for them :/ or atleast got them to the vet to see if they were chipped but I feel like they'd put that in the video. Some looked very healthy and cared for. I'd be devastated if I had an outdoor cat that wouldn't come home because someone else is feeding them.
TNR is super important to prevent unwanted pregnancies (often the female only a kitten themself) and more babies having a hard life on streets. Thank you so much!
That's how a good day start: opening the house door to meet the real owners of your borrowed house XD. Absolutely love this woman... and the five cats too!.

It’s like looking at a mirror image of how I started rescuing cats. Which turned into raccoons, geese and birds of all kinds. LOL. I absolutely loved it, welcomed it and continued it for 30 years. I had to stop because of debilitating health issues and change of residence. I miss it every single day. It was the absolute best time of my life. Worked my ass off, for everything I had and it was my privilege to share it with feathers and fur. Now it’s just me and 2 animals. Oreo and Bruce. They get smothered with love daily, and return it tenfold. 👍🏼💪🏼🙏🏼😘❤️🌈🎉😎
Ahhh it’s the best. It’s better if you could find some neighbors you can trust and help out if need be. You know, Life has a way of throwing curve balls when you least expect it. It’s always good to have emergency help. I really hope you get to foster. Just be prepared not to ever want to let any of them go. Precisely the reason why I took the “Foster” out of my title and became the rescue forever home chick. 😳😱🤣😂👍🏼💪🏼🌈🎉
@@BullshitDetector same. I told my fam that I want to foster dogs and even other exotic animals that get abused but they told me instead of putting in all my energy to help pets and endangered animals that I should put it into helping humans. It hurt to hear that but I shook it off.
This was how ancient cats began their long relationship with humans. The cats hunted the rodents who were attracted by human grain warehouses, and decided to permanently move in with the humans. Cats know a good deal when they see one.
This woman is an absolute sweetheart. I love that the cats have their stockings hung above their beds 1:57 and 2:32 is this Christmas? You've all been so good this year 😊
@@ninajansson5826 Yes. Not the whole ear just the top. The cat feels nothing, no pain. Tipped means they were fixed in the vet and re released to the original spot they were trapped. They tip the ear of those that are TVNR'd. So they are vaccinated and fixed. Now if an animal control sees them they know yo leave them alone.
@@ninajansson5826 yes, they remove the very tip or clip a small “V” in the tip of the ear to signify that the cat has been fixed & vaccinated, while they’re under anesthesia.
I love this woman’s outlook and amazing heart! She was never annoyed or felt put out by these beautiful cats. She rearranged her life around theirs. She has such a great respect for life itself and in turn, the cats have enriched her life. We can definitely ALWAYS benefit from having animals in our lives. Love, love, love!!! ❤️🙏🏽❤️🥰🥰🥰
what a wonderful woman. she welcomed what some people might think is an inconvenience. She willingly gave up some people's "dream" of having her yard to herself. She's got as much love in her as she now has all around her.
I watch so many videos like this, and I'm always amazed at how over and over the animals look like they were just waiting for the person. Like they knew it was going to happen, but the person didn't get advanced warning. What a treasure these beautiful kitties have in their beautiful Addy Mom ❤
That's a terrific thing to discover, all those cats. And they are used to everything and are very friendly. Nothing better than having a big cat family.
Those kitties are sure lucky to have the perfect tenant move into their home lol. I love how she takes care of them, not everyone would be as kind as her. Nice to hear good stories.
This is how I feel when I fixed the feral cats in my backyard then new ones pop up. Lol I feel so happy to be greeted by any of them for daily meals and shed grooming. Love giving them a space to be safe from other aggressive and territorial cats.
I just love this woman and what she stands for. So many turn their backs on everything but themselves and here she goes all out for just the love of life and the beauty of animals. With all my heart I think God placed animals here to teach us all how to be better human beings. This woman is now as good as you can get. I too help out and take care of 9 feral cats in my yard twice a day for three years plus my house cat and pup. It cost plenty of money and loads of time and effort but I get back more just seeing the joy and peace they have knowing they don't have to kill for their next meal, or starve like they used to. .God bless her heart.
@@annettejones9785 I can't even read your comment without having tears well in my eyes and thanks so much. I used to think love can triumph over anything and now I see it can't. Wow, what an incredibly sweet, gentle and giving woman this is. Her first thought is that she's lucky to have them there and therefor she will take care of them. A generous heart without reservation. I hope Addy gets more joy and love from her new adopted family, she deserves it, just like these cats deserved a human to look after them. Blessings and peace to them all !!
I love that she was so willing to accept these cats into her life and provide for them. They're clearly a happy group. I love that she made steps, beds, toys, and a cat tree. What a wonderful opportunity.
I just moved to a new house too. Fed two strays. These guys have spread the word about my cafe, and I am now feeding 5 strays plus my 2 indoor cats. Captured 3 of the 5 and spayed/neutered them, rabies, dewormed to prevent more litters. Purchased small homes for them, let them sleep on the porch when it got below 25 degrees, helping them with warmth, and guess now I have adopted the neighborhood. 8:00 am and 5:00 pm feedings! I just couldn't let them starve but just baffles me how people can just abandon them. Too many heartless people.
I have permanent cats like this...and I absolutely love that she expressed this is an HONOR to care for these AMAZING cats! ❤️❤️ She's AMAZING and it's an HONOR to view her beautiful video!
This woman has a wonderful attitude and I agree with her sentiments that she "would have paid extra." I believe that the cats come bearing gifts too. It's nice to see kindness pay off.
Awesome. My family ended up with 6 more cats, when we moved in. We started with 4, and more kept showing up. We feed the strays, and have 5 indoor kitties now.
My family had a similar experience with an abandoned mother and her three kittens. They showed up at our house one day, skinny and ragged, and begged for food. We already had six cats of our own, so of course we fed them and slowly tried to gain their trust. Fast forward two years, Chumley, Bolt, Murderface (the kids) and Freya (the mum) are all super friendly and healthy. Chumley even comes inside the house, so he’s essentially become an indoor-outdoor cat. They’re all so sweet and affectionate, and I’m constantly amazed how much they progress they made in trusting humans again.
Cats choose the humans they wish to spend their time with. They know who in their heart and soul will treat them as family. Earn the love a cat and you will have it forever.
Yeah, like I alays laugh when I see a poster about a 'LOST CAT'. If your cat ever doesn't come home then it's either DEAD (or trapped somewhere), or it WASN'T YOUR CAT!
Such a heartwarming story! That lady is lucky to have a "family" of cats that came along with her house! Love how the kitty-cats just took over! It seems she may have "domesticated" a couple of the cats! Good for her and the kitty-cats! I sincerely "thank you" for this upload!!
What a beautiful, caring, big hearted woman for giving the stray cats a place to live and enjoy the backyard. She will feed them and give them love for the rest of their lives. A lovely story.
