Woman Uses Pickles As Bandaids To Save Money 

Bruh, I straight up screamed when she pulled out those needles. I grew up surrounded by diabetics. DO NOT reuse needles whether you think they're sanitized or not! Nothing this lady has said is sound medical advice! She's just saving for her own funeral at this point.

As someone who is studying veterinary medicine and has properly scrubbed in for surgeries I can confidently assure you that none of this is sterile.

I used to care for a diabetic... Needles are single use. Because they are designed to be incredibly sharp and tiny, they are dull after a single use. You cannot see that with the naked eye because its microscopic, but they're no longer appropriate to use again.

PLEASE NEVER RE-USE NEEDLES. 1. you can get all sort of blood related ailments and viruses from it 2. it dulls after first use, therefore will hurt 10x and may cause skin and vein rupture. -a nurse

My Mom was not a cheapskate but she loved to get what she paid for, she would be in and out of the hospital very often. She would always ask for an itemized bill before being discharged and would demand every single box of tissue she was charged for, when she left the Hospital it looked like she was checking out of a Hotel, mattress pads, pillows. you name it. you paid for it, take it with you. LOL

I'm a sleep Technologist and her whole CPAP Bull is killing me, you have to have the proper prescribed air pressure set on the machine or its worthless, and you can ask Dr's for samples of masks....omfg 😠

As a respiratory therapy student, months away from graduating, hearing her talk about yard sale CPAP machine and tape her old mask was very painful to watch. CPAP masks should be replaced several times a year (it varies anywhere from 3 to 6 months usually). You also could risk your symptoms flaring up again if cracks or leaks occur since the older it gets, the less tight of a seal you'll have and the mask may crack. Imagine all the mucous and sweat and oil in that mask😭

Those doctors arent giving her anything. She gets them after the nurse leaves and says the doctor will be in to see u in a moment.

Somebody please call adult protective services on this woman! Pickles ain't gonna save her from sepsis.

All the equipment it takes for them to "save money" looks more expensive than getting Dental insurance and just seeing a dentist.

I’m currently studying phlebotomy (drawing blood) and the MAIN reason why we don’t reuse needles is because they’re dirty, cannot be re-sterilized, and the tip bends after one use. Ain’t safe gurl.

Tape works well on bug bites too. And it doesn't leave your child traumatized by pickles. I think there are more efficient and inexpensive ways than what she's got going on to save money.

This woman doesn't understand what "sterile" means. I don't see what good the gowns do at home. Also, the biggest issue I have with the pickle thing is that she put the picked back in the jar after using it, planning to reuse it! The jar isn't even labeled or kept separate to keep people from eating those pickles!

I have to take an injection-based medication and they're all very adamant(?) in the fact that you should NEVER re-use a needle. the fact this lady EVEN CONSIDERED re-using a needle and actually does so is wild to me.

So she uses pickles for insect bites…instead of the cheaper option of getting a bottle of vinegar from the dollar store and using scrap pieces of fabric to put in on the bite??

My man is an electrician. He's making proper money and definitely has access to good insurance.

Omg these folks used to come in the video store I worked at and took home the leftover popcorn. They would have yard sales every weekend of the treasures they came across while out and about. They were interesting folks. We live in a small town in Virginia so we know everyone’s business 😂😂

When I can't find a band aid, I'll use some tape and a piece of paper towel to make a makeshift band aid but the addition of the pickle is so weird.

I think the medical field can be shady sometimes, but I doubt the stuff she's doing is secrets the medical field is hiding from us. Her "savings" gross me out.

Hey Ken that needle doesn't get dull it actually bends the tip of the needle because it's so thin then when you pierce yourself again it can do vein damage and other damage because its pulling out a hook rather then a straight edge this lady is insane

Using a needle more than once is dangerous especially if it supposed to go into a vein because after the first poke the needle tip is bent from the skin it can tear your insides up after the first use

You have to replace the masks! If they aren't clean they can harbor bacteria from your face & might cause rashes. It's sticky because it's breaking down. I always know when my husband needs a new one because it won't fit as well and causes air gaps. It causes noises that I call his face farts. If he wakes me up more twice a night, it's definitely time. Maybe those 2 don't sleep together and then she gets away with not changing it. If it doesn't fit right, you're not getting the full benefit tho

I’m cringing so hard at the sleep apnea part right now 🤦🏽‍♀️😂 also ken to answer your question- yes your pressure settings should be set specifically by your doctor. Most people use a standard range because the machine will adjust to the pressure you need. But in more severe cases of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) your dr. Might set a specific range or continuous pressure.

Apple cider vinegar works great for bug bites, itchy dry scalp etc... baking soda and water paste works well to relieve itch/sting from mosquito, spider bites and wasp/bee stings too haha. My step dad is kind of the cheapskates..the man literally has a "gum rock." I have eczema and super sensitive skin and a lot of the store bought stuff just makes it worse... So yeah the vinegar and other things can really work... pickles are a bit far. You can buy a while gallon of vinegar for less than the pickles and soak a cotton ball... but that doesn't have the gross out shock value, I suppose.

So i know a load of people who use drugs, they advise that syringes can be used almost in perpetuity. The thing that causes them to fail is the plunger degrading and causing the piston to stick. However, they do agree that the process becomes more painful as you use the needle due to the tip of the needle being rolled over on a microscopic level. The rolled tip tears flesh on the way in and out so unless youre a heroin addict, dont reuse syringes. And NEVER EVER re-use someone else's needle. Nothing you can do to it will actually sterilize it, yes you can sanitize them, but that only kills off the MAJORITY of viruses and bacteria. The real issue is the teensy bits of flesh and blood clinging to the surface of the needle. Those will remain and likely re-grow bacterial colonies as you use the needle. This bacterium can cause something junkies like to call "cotton fever" which used to be thought to be caused by particles of the cotton filter finding their way into your blood stream, but its basically low-grade septicemia. This can kill you, so can the drugs, so can hep-b and HIV, so can the dealer, so can the police. There is no safe way to use street opioids long term.

I feel like they're confusing "clean" and "sterile". They're not the same thing. A roll of paper bedding sitting in cabinet might be clean, but it's not sterile. You're just gonna lay on it so it doesn't really matter, but if it comes to something like needles, which you CANNOT and SHOULD NOT re-use, clean and sterile are two very different things.

The lady that supposedly took a chisel and knocked her tooth out couldn't have done that. I used to be a dental assistant and I assisted in over 1,000 tooth extractions. If you took a chisel and hit your tooth with it, you would only succeed in breaking it off at the gum line. Then you would have to go to the dentist and have the root removed surgically.

A couple months ago I sliced off part of my thumb at work.. before the boss took me to the hospital I was looking through our first aid kit.. I was pissed., it was just different sizes if bandaids. I was like I have a better first aid kit in my bathroom at home wtf!! And yes.. it was like 40 bucks to put it all together, I used to take it on hiking trips

When I went to the doctors as a child I would steal tons of stuff from the drawers while they have you waiting in the room alone for the doctor 😂 I had no use for these things….

I will say that vinegar does have some natural healing properties, so I do agree with the vinegar thing. However, like all natural remedies, it doesn't always work for everybody.

My grandma used to occasionally use dry ice if she was taking a cake or something to a picnic and needed to keep it cold all day. Beyond that, I've never heard of anyone using it for anything.

My father actually stuck my left hand in a cooler full of dry ice when I was about 14 years old. His parents were using it to make some kind of cool effect for their bowl of drinks for a party of some sort. I don't remember exactly why he did it, i just remember he was really pissed off over something really small that happened and took it out on me. It only lasted about 30 seconds or so but it felt like forever and it was painful. Luckily I still have that hand but I can't be anywhere near that stuff.
