Never believed anyone would be that crazy to work that long at any fast food restaurant all I see is new workers and new managers the only one that’s probably as old as her is the CEO of McDonald’s

I'm honestly surprised she loves her job that much to the point where she doesn't want to retire anytime soon. I've never worked at a Mcdonald's before, but I've seen how busy those employees work behind the counter. I definitely believe they're underpaid, and underrated as employees. Even if she doesn't have to do so much, being at one job at a small Mcdonald's building for 5 decades seems to boring to me. 10 years felt too long for me at my previous job which was at a grocery store.

Reminds me of a guy I used to work with that worked for Taco Johns for 40+ years at the same store. That guy could tell you the stores history almost from start to current day. Im unsure if he still works there today, as a corporation bought it and ran it into the ground. Basically everyone quit.

Out of nearly 40,000 locations of McDonald’s and a million of employees or two, Barbara is a longest serving McDonald’s employee and worked for 53 years! I don’t think I can work that long. Used to work at McDonald’s from 2008 to 2010 in PA, I never met any employees who worked for a very long time!

There is an elderly lady at the Miller Place McDonalds in Long Island NY. She's been there since I was a kid, please give her a shoutout! Also, shoutout to the Wading River McDonalds that closed during COVID times, the entire staff was exemplary, very sad they closed that location.

A person spending 53 years at McDonald's is astounding but also sad like there could have been other jobs that she could pursue, but she chose to stay at McDonald's for 53 years when they don't even pay their employees $13 an hour which is just sad.

People joke about teenager's working fast food, google how much a manager makes a year, it's a real living. And you can be a manager quickly.

Loyalty should be rewarded, but I doubt the corporate bigshots at McDonald's Headquarters will be giving her a restaurant as a retirement gift. If McDonald's has an employee stock purchase plan, and she has been contributing to it since 1970, she should be filthy rich. The split adjusted price of the stock in 1970 is something like 17 cents. It's now close to $300.

Last year i worked at McDonald's for a Month Before I got my Second Security Officer job where im at Now.

And this is why I HATE when teachers tell students, “ *If you don't go to college, you'll end up flipping burgers for the rest of your life!* ” I remember hearing that twice in my life; once when I was between 11 or 12 in the 7th grade and again when I was 23 in college! Any time I heard that, it NEVER sat right with me. Granted, the pay is crappy but I just couldn't understand what the "wrong" was in working those jobs. Its an innocent job with an innocent pay. I'd rather a person work retail/fast food vs. prostituting or selling drugs! Another reason it never sat right with me is because of the irony. Aren't you receiving a service from these very same people who work fast food/retail when you go to these establishments/companies??? 🤔 So isn't it kind of inappropriate to talk down on these people? What if they genuinely like working fast food or retail? 🤷 I mean, if they gave bad service that's one thing. However, to essentially look down on someone working in that job field in & of itself as a whole is something different. Congratulations Barbara. 🍟🍔💛🙂
