The entire team cost less than Dennis Bergkamp. Love them & not many did or hate 'em many did you have to respect what this little club achieved when they got elected to Div 4 in 1977. Respect, the greatest little club of the 20th century.
This was the last game I went with my dad. I went with my parents and a mate. Gooners for life. Dad passed away in 1997, so this game means a lot to me. We sat in the Arthur waite stand and when merson scored he celebrated right in front of us. I remember Winterburn celebrating and he was like a man possed. Great day and memories. Also my mum took a blanket to keep warm. Lol
I had watched this game at the Selhurst Park Stadium when I was studying abroad in London. I lived in Wimbledon at the time so I was a big fan of Crazy Gang! Especially Jamaican players were very impressive for me. I was crazy at the time!
I remember my father watching match of the day and this particular game was on, at the time I liked football but didn’t support a team but for some reason while watching this I knew Arsenal was the team I liked, the next ten years that followed were magnificent, now Arsenal are just a great source of depression to me but I’ll always love them.
That's when Arsenal was Arsenal! When Football was Football! Now we have millionaires playing it with no loyalty to the clubs they play for, funded by "customers" and foreign business men! RIP Football!
seriously how on gods green earth was that not a penalty???? wimbledon totally robbed , should of had a blatant penalty and ian wright raised foot for merson to score was a blatant freekick....dreadful ref
Arsenal fans moaning about second wimbledon goal when they should've been down to 10 men after a minute and their second shouldn't of stood as Wrights foot was raised.
