A similar situation happened to me when i lost my dad. An " aunt" was fake crying and 2 minutes later when her friend walked in she forgot why she came. After that i just wanted to be left alone. I mourned mostly until i travelled home.
My thoughts exactly! A person loses a loved one & all some people are concerned about is getting fed by the bereaved. The most infuriating part of that is they do it with every sense of entitlement in their being. Like, are you coming to console the bereaved or be a pain in the ass? This has made me ask several times before whether a funeral is for burying the deceased and grieving, a time for some sober reflection or a time to feast
