Abraham & Sarai assumed they had to make things happen by themselves - making the impossible a possibility by bringing in the Egyptian servant girl Hagar who became pregnant by Abraham. **As a result of a lack of faith in The Lord God, the results of this "unevenly yorked" union had/has far reaching effects and consequences which stretched over many centuries to the present day. Ishmail - Hagar's son from Abraham is the father of the arabs, and Isaac - Sarai's son with her husband Abraham is the father of the Jews. THE REST IS HISTORY WHICH IS PLAYING OUT IN A BIG WAY TODAY.
