Women of the World presents ‘Knock! Knock!’ - Black Voices: Amplified
Friday, August 28th, 6-7pm (EST)
These past few months, the Women of the World members have been doing our own course of study, research, discussion and learning about racism, Black history in the US and globally, as well as the Black Lives Matter movement. For the next few months, we are dedicating our online 'Knock! Knock!' concert series to amplify Black Voices.
Racism is a global issue, and one that requires continuous effort and attention. We believe stories are the most powerful and vital way to help people relate, understand and internalize experiences that others have gone through. Storytelling has the power to transform examples from ‘someone’s story’ to ‘our story’ - our shared experience as human beings. When we connect to each other on a personal level, with honesty and vulnerability, we begin to understand each other’s pain, joy, suffering, and aspirations more clearly.
For our first of the Black Voices: Amplified series, we welcome four incredible Black artists. We encourage you to support each of our featured performers by sending your appreciation for their art through PayPal.
