Women, Peace and Security Working Group for the Arab States 

In the beginning on June the Swedish Dialogue Institute for the Middle East and North Africa hosted a first meeting of the WPS Working Group for the Arab States. This group has been formed under the leadership of Issam Fares Institute and UN Women to bring perspectives of WPS experts in the MENA region into the global discussions on how to advance the Women, Peace and Security agenda.
In connection to the meeting we conducted interviews with partners and participants. Today, we are pleased to share interviews with Heba Zayyan from UN Women, and Karma Ekmekji from IFI. In these interviews, they explain the purpose of the WPS Working Group and talk about upcoming meetings. Ms. Zayyan also elaborates on how the UN effectively collaborates with and supports women peacebuilders in the MENA region.
