The word "own" is very misleading as it implies paid off completely. This is rarely the case. And even if it is paid off, there are still property taxes and maintenance concerns to deal with and pay for. And a lot of these supposed home owning women are not in any position to deal with this.

I'm lucky to enough to own my property and land, but there are ALWAYS property taxes to take care of as well as maintainence. The more land/property you own, the more they tax you smh

Sup Coach, I know you don't read these but what the hell. I saw a TV commercial for Zillow the other day. Had 3 women in their late 20s huddled around in a living room of a new home, in what looked to be a townhome of some sorts in a downtown area. The tldr on the commercial was Zillow helped these girls find the perfect home to own. Now my question is, does this count as three homeowners? They say more women own more homes than men but is this really the case? Three women sharing ownership of one home would be three homeowners, are men doing the same? Could easily explain the disparity between the raise in female homeownership to male homeownership. Surely Zillow would not create an ad for a non existing audience. Are all these women independently owning all these homes? I think the fact this ad exists, Zillow sort of confirms that this is not the case. Men on the other hand probably more hesitant to go into ownership with friends, meaning less purchasing power - decreased home purchases.
