Icon, you being a bit harsh on her, these things do happen in track and field in olympics but remember she has '16' high jump championship medals that includes European as well as World events which no women high jumper has ever achieved yet.

She was the best athlete that day! She won it fairly and deserves it.

@@rodeyvarnell5961 , she was the best athlete that wanted to compete that day, and was allowed to do so. Had Lasitskene (then Kuchina) been there, we would probably have another champion. It wasn't her fault the whole Russian team was banned. From 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2018, she won 45 competitions in a row, so I consider her the best athlete during that whole period. By "wanted to compete" I'm referring to Nafi Thiam and Katarina Johnson-Thompson, who both cleared 1.98 in Rio heptathlon - higher than any of the high jump specialists. But it was of course their own decision not to compete in high jump (though, the both sometimes do so).
