I have that same cowlick! There are days it lays flat, but it is purely by accident! I will be trying your technique of drying it side to side for sure!
Love love love Jen. I have similar hair! I just haven’t seen content creators use models with actual thin and fine hair. We roll our eyes when fine hair tips are given using a model with loads of hair.
I've been feeling really worried and down about my post menopausal hair loss, but your videos and your overall positivity and joy are so inspirational and comforting. 🥰🥹😘
Honestly you have answered my hair “prayers” with this video….I am going to try some of these techniques (my hair is a bit shorter, has a lot of breakage, loss and minimal regrowth but this is a start! Thank you so much for the tips! You are fantastic!
HAIR FIBERS!! (Sally sells them w the little top pump! Game changer for me) yes don’t forget to use hair fibers in your warmest color to hide any scalp and add fullness. And apply on edges.. super improvement for me! Velcro Rollers and fibers!
Thank you so much for your fine/thin hair videos with Jen! She looks amazing! I too have been a victim of overlayering - and the thing is a stylist can never trim layers exactly as they were the first time, so it's impossible to maintain a decent looking layered cut much beyond the second trim - because you just loose too much hair by cutting layers. I'm 64 years old and have lived through the 70's where long hair was in (but mine wouldn't grow)..then (worse) the 80's when BIG hair was mandatory! (Ooops, couldn't pull that off either without damaging body perms - ugh - grey and white rollers with a lovely ammonia smell...who could forget??) So at this late age, I'm now learning more about my hair from you than all those stylists along the way. And yes, I lived through bad blunt cuts too - where the front was shorter and back fanned out like Cleopatra. My question is , what do you do with a thin, angular face where growing all hair to one length, parted in the middle overpowers your face?
I have baby fine thin limp hair and have never managed to grow it out to a bob. But now I have decided to try the blunt bob without layering so I am working on growing my hair out from my usual pixie. Till now I have chosen to keep my neck quite short with layering to have some sort of shape while waiting for the rest to grow out. I think it looks fine from behind and from the side. The front view is another story. My bangs and the sides are the same length almost with no layering as I haven’t cut it at all since my decision. The sides cover half of my ears now, and the front reaches the middle of the nose. I looks terrible, just terrible with my limp lifeless thin hair, and I don’t know how to cope and if I should give up growing it out. I would be so grateful if you would share some tips for growing out thin fine limp hair. Thanks so much for your helpful professional hair videos, I am a huge fan.
I love to watch the videos with Jen and have shared them with my stylists and friends with fine, thin hair. I also struggle with a cowlick in front and will be trying this technique. I love your channel and love when you use Jen as your model because I can so relate.
I was Jenn back in the day. Same texture, color, length, volume, cut and style. Had an excellent stylist who gave me the same thickening and treatments every 4-5 weeks. Unfortunately, I lost her when we moved. My head was shaved for surgery, and hair grew back white/silver/platinum. I am so glad to find this video because I needed to see what products to use to help the thickening. I'd like to see Jenn's hair in a shorter style, so when she's ready again....! Great tutorial!
Gabi, you are the first stylist who has recommended to NOT layer the crap out of fine hair! I SO agree with you! I have fine hair on the medium-thin side and EVERY time I get a cut I come away with it layered so deeply you can see my ears/neck through the wispy layers on the sides because the stylists always layer the bejeezus out of my hair. AND I always seem to get the front cut higher than the back as well! Why don't you live near me so you can be my stylist?? At least I can take the tips you've given to the appointment I have next week and hopefully, finally, get a decent cut.... Thank you for your very informative videos!!
I MUST have layers, lol………… if I DONT…… my hair hang straight down & my ears poke through my hair! The layers of the crown helped me to cover this and I also shortens my face which makes it look so much better on me
You're a great, inspiring lady. Trust yourself, having confidence is the best gift to yourself, which often comes with time and getting older (I'm 51). Love your videos, I also have fine, long hair that has become thinner over time. Thanks for your wonderful tips for hair and makeup. 🥰😍🤩 from co. Kildare, Ireland.
Another great tutorial. Thank you Gabi...I need to tweak my velcro roller tecnique, but they work great.I am very happy with them. One thing I discovered, for me, if I take them off too quickly, I end up with a bit of freeze, but if I remove them slowly, my hair will have no flyaways
You’re SO right especially because if you see some videos the “models” YANK them out as though that makes a bouncier curl but on us fine haired girls it only crested Frizz and drags down the curl!
I love your channel but I just got my hair cut in a bob, I have never had it this short but love it except when I watch your cannels their are so many different brands of hair supplies in each. I too have very thin hair and being in my 70's has gotten worse. I usually just wash and go but I want an actually hair do but am terrible with hair products but doesn't break the bank thank you
Thank you so much, Gabi! I think I wrote down your every word!! There are simply too many good tips in this video to miss a single one! If only you weren't located so far away from Albuquerque/Santa Fe, New Mexico, I would make an appointment with you asap to cut my hair! And as much as I'd LOVE to visit you in Canada, flying anywhere for a haircut is just a little (ok, a lot!) more extravagant than most of us can afford. But at least we have your great videos! You sure do understand the challenges of fine hair! Because of you, I will try the Kerotin products you used here. I have a whole cupboard full of "fine hair" products that never do what they say, but I remain hopeful, and your enthusiasm, and also being "one of us" makes it all the more promising. Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into making so many informative videos!!
This is awesome….I have baby fine hair & 2 cowlicks at the front which just do their own thing regardless of what I try to do lol….definitely trying this out
Go sulfate free if you have fine hair. Sulfates stimulate oil on your scalp. Wash your hair every three days and use dry shampoo on the roots in between washings. I turn my head upside down when blow drying and ensure all strands are dry. Brush towards your face. This method is fast and lifts the roots for maximum volume. . I use a wet brush instead of blow dry brushes that tear my hair. I agree with the directional roller method however I use a hot curling iron. It’s vital to let each curl completely cool b3fore brushing or fingering the style. Occasionally I will use a texture spray at the roots for lift on day three without washing. Another tip is to use a silk pillow slip that helps maintain your style and prevents hair crushing and frizzing. Try this, it works. I am no longer a slave to my hair and I love the results. Bonus, Target sells silk alternative pillow slips that work great, don’t wrinkle and cost a third of pure silk.
Thanks for the tips in this video. After wearing my hair in curly styles for the past 2 years, I was bored and saw one of your other videos using the Tymo Ionic Volumuzing Brush Blowdryer. I used it along with a volume blow out cream I had on hand and was very pleased with my first attempt. Next time I will try the superlarge velcro rollers for added volume. But even without them, the Tymo was a pretty handy tool. I have fine thin gray wavy/ curly and graying hair so I need all the help I can get. I also have increased my protein intake, am on low carb and take Hairflair supplements which has helped.
Thank you for the great tips for fine hair! Please continue to do more videos like these. Would also like one on which drug store bought products are best for fine hair.
Started watching your videos lately. I have that frizzy hair, fine shaft but pretty good density. I have used a lot of your tips and they work well on my hair!! Thanks for the tips. Your are a beautiful woman. Have a blessed day!!
I am seriously at a loss what to do with my fine hair. I think I may have come to right channel. I’m going to pursue through because it like you know the struggle! If anyone knows of any specific ones I should watch please post in comment. Thanks. It’s so easy to lose hours on here, I’m not trying to be lazy. Thanks for your very educational videos! Love ‘em
This was such an inspirational video and thank you for the tips about the way you place the velcro rollers in your hair. I wish we had the same products that you used on your client's hair here in the UK. I love your videos they have taught me a lot of good tips. I ask my hairdresser any questions and she very vaguely knows how to answer.
Are you wanting it to be diffused with natural curl or blown out smooth? Next Monday I have a model coming in who happens to be a little girl (she's 9 years old) but she has the exact hair type. Very fine but extremely curly. I am going to show how I cut it and how I diffuse it for control and volume. Stay tuned for that.
@@GlamGirlGabi Amazing! Her hair type sounds exactly like mine. I never blow my hair out so a curly volume look is what i always try to go for but never get quite right
Thank you for the tips with a real model . My hair is similar but worse than Jen’s and I haven’t been to a salon in years because of embarrassment. I can’t even look in the motor most of the time. I’ll try these products and tips
Root cover can help with the "bald" spots we thin haired girls have. Spray it on your scalp. Works like a charm. I was thinking of getting a wig until I found this trick.
Thankyou so much for this tutorial! Will be trying this weekend! What a beautiful model! I have a question about box dye… I have been coloring my own at a 3N and would like to lighten up a bit so that my thinning bear my scalp won’t be so noticeable. Do you have any recommendations on what I can do at home to get to a level 5? Thanks for your help!!!
No matter what I tell the stylist, they just quickly dry it with a few quick passes with an inadequate round brush. I always restyle my hair as soon as I get home.
Hi Gabi. I am in Canada and I see two other gals asking for recommendations. I looked on the Kerotin site and they do ship internationally in 2 to 3 weeks but we’d also be charged Customs and Duty charges otherwise I would love to try all of the recommended products. Could you please suggest comparable products for us fellow Canadians. Thanks.
@Glam Girl Gabi, The main reason I follow you is how much you care about hair especially fine and thin hair. Great video and real model here with a real beautiful hair fine and soft. I enjoy all your tips and tricks about fine hair. Question: why using 1 inch to blow dry her hair why not 2 or 3 inch if we want volume?
Thank you for your kind comment ❤️ I like using one inch because it gives me more bend and bevel at the bottom. I really love that bouncy blown out long. The bigger the barrel, the less bend you get.
There is no product for hair loss other than minoxidil. There are some nice products for root lifting and volume, but understand it is only a product and not a cure. I've been setting my hair lately using Rusk THICK, and I love how much body I'm getting, even without using heat. I'll try it with heat next time. That, and the redirecting, were the two greatest takeaways from this video. Please note, not all velcro rollers are created equal. I had to return a set that got stuck in my hair. Just make sure you don't place the hair on the roller as you would on a wand/stick type heat appliance. Wind it up from the tip only, as shown in this video.
Is there anywhere to buy the Kerotin products in Canada. I had to purchase from the states in U.S. dollars and shipping was over 2 weeks. Also, what about the Kerotin syrum. I bought that and if it gets in your hair it looks greasy so you have to be so careful with it to only use on the roots. Let me know if you have any advice with this or if you use it. Thank you so much for all your videos. It has helped me so much with my 67 year old fine hair. I especially love my Tymo !!
It can be tricky to navigate but once you have a few tips and techniques in place, it can actually be very versatile and quick to style which is a huge bonus!
I'm so happy that you found this video to be helpful! Jen is so cute! I adore her. Thank you so much for watching and for supporting the channel. It means a lot to me.
Gabi your are so sweet, getting older is fabulous thank you for seeing us. We need to take over Hollywood & magazines, It seems no one is over smoking hot 30 years old......
The roller info, never knew the right way to do that! My hair is just like hers and static is SUCH a problem for me. It's driving me crazy. I could never use that style round brush because of the static.
Yes the on base, off base and half off base is hair school 101! It is very important actually. Static can be a challenge for fine hair. Do you have a spray that helps? I find that Sebastian Shaper helps a lot with that and since it is a workable spray, it doesn't make the hair sticky or heavy.
@@GlamGirlGabi yes it made so much sense when you showed it that way! I only use products from OWAY that are non toxic and packaged in glass, I'm difficult lol. But I will look up that product and see if I can find something comparable. It's less in the summer of course but it's still a problem all year round. I'm living vicariously thru these blow outs you do static free 🤣
I am allergic to fragrance and most plant-based ingredients like rosemary oil, etc. Do you have any recommendations for thickeners and styling products I might use?
Hey Gabi! For hair this straight and fine, would you recommend these tools over the Tymo Volumizer? Thank you for sharing all your knowledge. I love watching your videos.
Hey Joanna! Jenn also has a blowout brush just like the TYMO Volumizer actually and she uses it regularly and loves it. Both will work but it's likely easier to use a blowout brush on your own hair than a blowdryer and round brush.
I watched your video and it is one of the best I have seen! You rock! I have a question but it is not about hair . I need to know what lipstick you are wearing and color. It is absolutely beautiful on you. I have close to the same coloring as you and think it would look really pretty. Thank you in advance!
Hello, please help! I bought Kerotin products with your discount two weeks ago. They confirmed my order. Send a link to check order status and the link dosn't open. I emailed them no response. I try to called several times but you can only leave a message and no luck there. They charged my card. I do not know what else to do. Any advice. Thank you for any help.
I just checked this kerotin products, but in the Netherlands they don't sell. However I use Redken volume injection + blow out gel. My hair gets greasy faster using this products, I thought using the Redken mint shampoo first and then the volume injection maybe would work?
As I get older and after having kids I feel like my hair is definitely thinner than when I was in 20s..anyways loved this video. I'm going to try this routine after I finish my current shampoo and conditioner. What are your thoughts on Hemisqaline and caffeine and aloe barbdensis leaf juice in shampoo? And is benzyl alcohol in conditioner?
Gabi, Can you tell me what the picture of your tattoo, you have on your arm, hopefully I am not being too personal. Just curious about the tattoos, love your channel content.
Hi Gabi, Love your Videos with fine thin hair, thats me😢, an thats is the real life, not fotoshop. Ok, I have a question about your styling Products kerotin: is this only to buy in america? Or do you have a good alternative ? Because I come from germany. Thx in advance and thank you very much to help us fine thin Hair people
