I know how it feels like kid. Sometimes life will punch you in the face. Hold your head up. We all know you're a gift. 2028 will be here before you know it.
@@lupsik1 If that is what he disagrees with, that's reasonable. We can disagree re NBC, because its a subjective point, but I think they NBC could have captured the moment and point without staying on her too long. Fair?
I think they need to change the stagger. Run the 1st 400 or 500 in lanes, then break for the pole. Less congestion, contact and more pure speed racing.
@@kauze_ It used to be considered "pure" middle distance (and it is not a sprint, you are right), but it has gotten so fast, that perhaps changes need to be made..when you are running laps sub 60, it is quite fast.
She's going to have to learn humility and grace. She should have walked over to the three winners and congratulated them, instead of walking off as if her fall didn't effect or injure another runner, then a few hours after, tried to take one of the three winner's spot to the Olympics by appealing the race (which was denied). She's too prideful, and as scripture says, "Pride goes before a fall."
@@bihsaidwhatnow2392 Maybe next time she should focus on staying on her feet, after the finish some grace and humility by all runners obviously is no longer common in the US "team". They could learn a thing or two from other national teams.
@@dijkb Do you really think runners from other national teams would have stopped, ran back, helped her up, made sure she was ok, then picked back up to continue the race? That is NOT the mindset of a runner while in the race--No matter what team they run for. USA team doesn't need to learn a thing from other teams--Competition is just that: Winning is greater than Whining.
They should have kept Mu in the 400. You get to stay in your lain and she was great at it. Like I was disappointed when I found out she was switched to 800m.
@@Rosegoldcamso does the USA women in basketball but yet so many “patriotic americans” are rooting against them because the clark chick won’t be on the team…good ol merikkkka
She did but tbf she was lagging behind already a decent amount when you look at the wide shot previous to the fall. Chances are she wouldn’t have made the top 3 by the end of it. Still sucks to have your one chance absolutely and definitively ripped away through no fault of your own
I thought when I heared that Athing was not going, I thought she just wasn't able to and I didn't think it was due to an accident. Athing has made a name for herself and there is a clear reason why. Obviously everyone deserves the same chance but USA just sent a goodbye kiss to gold att 800m W when they didn't let her go.
Yeah, like moving in when there is space, it was the runner's own fault, unfortunately. She has long strides and has to keep that in mind and her fellow runners
Athings success in her early years was to get out in front of the pack and go! She doesnt have experience running in a pack. Coach Kersey is not the coach Id want for my kid. Hides them away from competing, making this their 1st one of the year. changes totally Mu's approach to racing and training, that she has had great success with. Cashing that Nike paycheck, Coach? for what? How many times have you seen Sydney McLaughlin run in the last 2 years? He's been keeping her off the track too. Sponsors can't be liking that.
Nope it was at the semis and appealed and ran from the Front and run the World 🌍 lead 1:41 at high altitude 😮, Wanyonyi is poised to TAKE gold 🥇 and possibly dream Rudisha's 1:40 World 🌍 record
It's not her style to slow it down after they break the lane separation. When she is in dominant form, she goes to the front and contols the race from the front. The moment she didn't do that, it felt odd, and then came the fall. The Kenyans are going to eat up the 3 going to Paris.
Anyone who is trained by Bobby Kersee is suspect. Flo Jo & Jackie Joyner Kersee (who had positive tests covered up before Seoul 1988) why does she hardly race? To avoid the testers. Keely is clean abd truly deserved the olympic gold.
HUH? Wait, what??? This is a race to the Olympics not some practice on the everyday field. She's not new to this---and has had the same thing happen three years ago at pretty much the same spot---we watched it unfold. The Race Isn't Given To The Shift, Nor To The Strong, But To The One Who Doesn't Fall But Endures In The End. Ecclesiastes 9 verse 11
@bihsaidwhatnow2392 I am referring to after the race. They seemed to gave hugs to each other. Why give her the cold shoulder Jack? If she didn't fall she surely would have made the team.
@bihsaidwhatnow2392 plus if someone tripped you and you was a world contender you would you be happy with getting snubbed at the finish line while they congratulated each other?
@@thundergun933 Who tripped Athing Mu??? She moved into the pack too early as a long legged runner-she caused the fall. Snubbing? She wasn't snubbed at all. She chose to walk towards the locker room instead of staying on the track field to at least say, "Good Job" to another runner. The fall and the fail was on her. Good luck next time--it is what it is--lost appeal and all.
Looks like the US just handed the gold to Keely Hodgkinson. Shame, because I have thought for some time thst she and Mu by competing against each other could challenge that dubious world record. Akins may be good enough to medal but will be up against Moraa and the South African runner
Why was she looking around? ...nonesense. Let her go home /change allegiance yo her homet South Sudan, she'll be making the team automatically without effort coz they have no athletes.
Reviews will be done to see if she was tripped by anyone. I have played the video at 0.25 normal speed. So far all I seem to be able to tell is she was NOT clipped from behind by the eventual winner or the girl to her right. She doesn't appear to have been clipped by Rogers either. I would like to see video from behind, inside, outside & above. My initial opinion is she mis-stepped, started to fall, then her left arm connected with the right arm of the girl who placed 3rd. If any protest is to be launched, she had to complete the race.
The United States of America ought to select the top two performers in trials as automatic qualifiers, while the third spot should be awarded based on performance. It is unjust for certain athletes to deliberately trip others, as evidenced by the unfair treatment of Athing Mu. This behavior is unacceptable and should not be tolerated.
So someone prior to this meeting who’ race once the last 9 months should be awarded a place based on ‘performance’ 😂. The current USA selection policy is by far the fairest, you only have to look at how poorly athletes in other countries rate you suggested approach. I suppose you also want Coleman selected based on ‘performance’.
ATHING MU DESERVES TO LOSE... If she did not fall and got left behind by MILES, she will lose anyway... What does she expect? She may be expecting that her "superstar" status can get her to the Paris O. She has not been running competitively, been out of the competition, for the last 9 to 12 months... She barely made it to the semis...! Again, what does she expect? I think its her stubborn, superstar mentality that cost her her defeat... And MU DESERVES IT!
