In 1994, an agreement was announced in Budapest by the United States, the United Kingdom, and Russia. The content of the agreement was that Ukraine would hand over its nuclear weapons (176 ICBMs, 1,592 nuclear warheads, etc.) to Russia, and in return, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Russia met in Budapest and pledged to guarantee "the security and territorial integrity of Ukraine" in the future. As a result, Ukraine gave up its "status as the world's third largest nuclear power." Why did Ukraine agree to give up the nuclear weapons it inherited from the Soviet Union? It was because the three most powerful countries in the world declared to the world that they would "guarantee the security and territorial integrity of Ukraine."

It's a wise decision, why? I'll be blunt: because the UK has a small surface compared to other countries, not to speak of Russia and does'nt need many bombs to destroy seriously. What makes you willing to expose your population, your towns and monuments to Russian bombs? What good comes to you from all this ?
