As I scientist, all I can say is it's about time! So delighted for this series. God's hand is everywhere. The beauty, order, and construction of the universe repeats itself even to the smallest level. It's been the joy of my life to follow the fingerprints of the Creator through scientific inquiry.

Yes agree 100% and no I’m not a scientist just a child of God, in love with my Creator~ “To be grateful is to recognize the love of God in everything He has given us-and He has given us everything. Every breath we draw is a gift of His love, every moment of existence is grace, for it brings with us immense graces from Him. Gratitude therefore takes nothing for granted, is never unresponsive, is constantly awakening to new wonder, and to praise of the goodness of God. For the grateful person knows that God is good, not by hearsay but by experience. And that is what makes all the difference.” Thomas Merton, Catholic Priest

I agree, I see science as away of understanding God's Creation. I'm studying to become a Paleontologist, I'm and Earth Science major.

As a scientist and a Catholic, I must say that this is a thoroughly refreshing series. Belief in God is not unreasonable. In fact, when properly understood, faith is in complete harmony with science.

When I studied as a PhD Chemist, the greatest truth I found was the complexity and beauty of creation that I could never fully understand and in humbleness I kneel before Him whom I can never fully understand but I know His greatness through the wonder and majesty of His creation. If His creation can bring wonder, try to imagine the greatness of He alone, the Holy One.

It is very beautifully done and scientifically accurate without slamming scientists too much. I am a scientist. I've also been a liturgist and I would have loved to have the scene of the family lighting candles set as part of the Easter Vigil. It is very powerful when the light of the single Pascal Candle enters the dark church, the chant, "Christ Our Light" is intoned, and the church lights up in a wave that propagates throughout the church as others light their candles from from the single Candle. The emphasis on Eucharistic Adoration is fine, but not as powerful in this context.

Depends on the audience. As someone who is a scientist (astronomer) and who was an atheist-this would not have moved me at all towards the light of faith…if anything it would of pushed me farther away. The cherry picking of quotes did not help matters either.

My soul sang to have both in communion by this production. Great work on scientific truths (the pass over on quantum mechanics was thrilling), writing, cinematography, and BEST of all JOHNATHAN ROUMIE’s narration! As a documentary buff, he did phenomenally. Although lovely, I expected something more from a Word on Fire production. The obvious metaphor of the wave-particle duality of light was underutilized: the duality of Christ's nature stands so perfectly here yet was never mentioned. Not even a thought of true light from true light. I love seeing God's hand writ large in the heavens (I studied astrophysics ~50 years ago.), and indeed, as he reveals more each day of our exquisite universe. In his homilies, conversations, and discussions, Bishop Barron illuminates his subjects with astounding clarity. Something I didn't find in this program.

I think the nature of necessity (not the necessity of creation, but the necessity of creation to conform once it's established) or "natural movement" or disposition of particles, waves, or wave-particles can be understood best with a given situation of a single act of creation out of a single truth, or created law, that gives heed to one ultimate "direction" or "purpose" (fulfilling itself in the given act) even in the various immeasurable movements and phenomena now happening in the universe. The various ways quantum particles interact or behave without any apparent exchange of information, or the dual nature of created light, or the speed of light, etc. are such because of their single origin at a definite beginning. Even in the immense size of the universe today, everything is still one single act of subsisting existence (creation). You can have additions, subtractions, multiplications, divisions, etc. in the universe, but naturally speaking it is a closed system that is still by nature one phenomenon; hence everything you do has an impact in ways expected and unexpected ("probabilities", since the defining variables will ultimately include the whole universe of creation), yet will never get out of the created "boundary".

The mystery of Light is the mystery of God. Hence, God is Light as God is Love. The Light is no longer a mystery as It is explained thru the lens of science revealing in the form of particle or (and) wave. Jesus is also revealed in the form of God and Man. With this clip, I understand more of Light as well as more of God.

The central point made is this: both science and the Christian religion have their mysteries, their paradoxes: reality transcends the reach of our knowledge. There is, I think, a deep lesson to be learned in our essential inability to "get to the bottom of things": the things of this world, their natures, are best understood as so many words of God: created expressions of the Divine Intellect. As such, they are meant to direct our minds beyond themselves: to the God Who made them. It also (at least) raises the question: Has God ever spoken to us about Himself? In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be. What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race; the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-5, 14)

God is light and in him there is no darkness. So if a person wants to get closer to God, he must not contain darkness, because darkness does not accept light. Therefore, we must cleanse ourselves of any darkness that dwells within us. The darkness in us is sin, which forces the flesh to do what the soul does not want. If we cleanse ourselves of all sin, we can enter the kingdom of heaven already on earth. Remember God is also Love.

It's not well publicised but Newton wrote more about God,religious history and the Bible than he did about all his other subjects put together and its only relatively recently these works have been published. He didnt believe in the trinity or the immortality of the soul,he believed in a physical resurrection and judgment at Christ's return. He also did not believe the devil was a physical being but was a metaphor for the corrupt part of our being stylised as the flesh in the Bible. He also did not believe Hell was a place of eternal physical torture but was a metaphor for the grave and the eternal darkness of death for those not granted eternal life at the judgment, due to the blasphemy laws in force then he had to keep his beliefs secret. Under the system that existed in his time upon finishing his studies at Cambridge he would have to be ordained into the Anglican priesthood and he was prepared to give up his studies rather than being ordained into a religious system he believed was in error, however due to his brilliance in the sciences he was given a dispensation which meant he didn't have to be ordained.
