i started a pedro pascal youtube interview binge a few days ago and now all these interviews are dropping, what timing!! he's an inspiration in the way he carries himself
Just seen WW84 and I enjoyed it, the film has a good heart and Pedro's Pascal's Maxell Lord is quite a complicated character - not necessary evil just corrupted by power and quite a tragic figure as we find out about him. Thought Pedro played his part well.
I agree. So many people shat on this film but I think, while not as good as the original, it was still enjoyable. And Pedro was amazing! I loved his performance. Max Lord was such a great character and his redemption at the end was so good! I may have teared up :)
Always so handsome! He is amazing! Looking forward to see the movie because of him specially! I like the rest of the cast too. I love this sweater! Love uniqueness! 😍🥰🔥❤️
"she knows how to draw that performance out" -- this is so evident in all of her movies, considering Monster, the first WW film, and even this one. Director Jenkins is always pushing her actors to deliver a performance that is unexpected or unseen before, and this is amazing specifically how in Wonder Woman we had Gal Gadot as a leading performer which many doubted before the film! I cannot wait to see how complex Kristen Wiig can be as Barbara Minerva (not necessarily the Cheetah), as it just reminds me of the classic 1980s villians from DC in the Lynda Carter show or even the Christopher Reeve films. It's just fantastic. On another mythological level, the idea and themes of hedonistic Epicureanism in Maxwell Lord's excesses, Cheetah's metamorphosis, Steve's entire life-death-rebirth cycle, and Diana's humanism and vulnerability and youthful valour it all just meshes so well with the time gendered culture-politics represented in 80s feminism.
That's a great point because we know Gal is not the best actor around, but Patty can draw the best part of her performance to shine. We can even compare the difference between Gal's performance in the Justice League with her performance in Wonder Woman. She's much more less stiff in the latter.
@@fartyfat6539 Exactly this -- not a knock on Gal at all but you start to notice this even among seasoned heavyweights like Monica Bellucci or Marion Cottillard where there's a big difference in the quality of their performance in foreign films/films in the native language vs. English ones. Speaking as someone for whom English is a second language, I can get how difficult it must be to not only express or articulate one's ideas in a foreign language but to actually do that in cinematic performance?! Plus, Gal was so NEW to it all when she came and did BvS and WW. Everyone doubted her ability to LEAD her own film, I'd argue even in BvS Snyder (who saw the potential in her and cast her) was portraying her as this mysterious, one-note warrioress which is little more than type. And it works as a cameo. It works superbly. But it was more of what we had seen of Gal in Hollywood action flicks like in the Fast franchise. But when we got Jenkins to direct her in the WW as the lead that was whole new performance and it was just so rich and layered! And it worked! It made the role Gal's! I'd argue no one else could pull it off with as much authenticity and sincerity to play Diana as she did -- the only one being in many ways Lynda Carter herself in her original TV film (Lynda was fairly new to the challenge of leading role as well in her first round). It worked so well with the Diana-seeing-Patriarch's World-for-the-first-time story that's in the original Marston and later George Pérez books. Other heroes discover super powers and technology; WW discovers the language of the world and cultures, and every cultural bias that comes with them.
Were briefed now a little on enjoying if ever ww1984. It's makes the magic whip moment for skimpy savages fighting ,more enjoyable knowing this. Oh the frustrations of prop and costume conference. That's got a spanner and a target, what a sweater and hasn't been chewed.
