A lovely diary, Biby TV. When my eldest was little, his bedroom faced a park over the road, where the willy wagtail would sing at night in the summer. The WW would begin his song just at nightfall, when I was putting my boy to bed. The song always began with an introductory "cht cht" call. "Hear that cht cht sound?" I would say to my son, "The willy wagtail is saying "Bedtime". Happy memories.
I love the willy wagtails nesting around our house. A cat killed what i believe to be the male a week ago, the female has been tending to eggs but im worried she won't be able to handle burden when chicks arrive. Have you seen a WW without a partner raise chicks on their own? Ive see her talking to another WW, but not sure is she really wanted it around, it might of been one of her babies from before coming to say hi. Im so worried for the mumma...i say a little prayer for her strength everytime i see her.🙏❤
