Well done picking up on that which makes sense because after he pays for the pumpkin and the kid who brushes his coat he says he has six sovereigns. And after he gives a sovereign to the mother and her baby he’s left with one. Ur analysis of this small detail is one of the best I’ve read in a while

What was cool is how he got them to start dancing. He hits his hat filled with his magical chocolate and it falls into their mouths.

I kind of wonder, if Willy has so many good times on a boat, why is a boat a vessel for fear in his factory? the Wonkatania kinda gets a new meaning that I’m still trying to unravel!

The value he adds to the lives of others makes Willy an awesome person to be friends with

I think that after the many years of sea, the people on that crew grew to love Willy.

Timotee Chalamet is so utterly charming in this movie that I could believe anything at all.

You should watch Dancer in the Dark then, it uses the same daydreaming technique for musical numbers and is equally as fun!

Yeah... It's unbelievable how the same actress can be so much different from one movie to another, from really nice and sweet to unpleasant, hideous character... She's a great actress

2971 new movie sounds like story life Ture life story and then years ago before I just love it so much it's looks like new

It reminds me more from the musicals. The contracts get longer and tangled around the cast, not really in the movie. The print just gets smaller in the Gene Wilder one.

wait a minute I just noticed something in the 1971 version where mike teave was talking he saw this in a movie once where a guy had to sighn the whole contract. Could he be referring to young willy wonka in this film?

Out of curiosity I tried to read the contract. It says: "Terms & Conditions have been carefully constructed by Scrubbit & Bleachers on the day of 14 April 1947, and [henceforth follows from] this date. By signing this contract you agree to abide by the following Terms & Conditions of The Guest House & Laundry, during the entirety of your stay. This agreement is kept at the [residence at] Bilk Lane. Thereafter Terms refer to specific conditions of agreement to which the guest must sign. This agreement has been written and witnessed by [Scrubbit? Can't really see what it says] and witnessed in the presence of the Police force po[llclling?] the surrounding area of Bilk Lane. he was kind of also a kind person in the 1971 version it's just that he was a bit stricter in the original and he only got angry at the very end

My thoughts exactly. I gasped when I saw that cause it felt right and was such a nice call back to the source material. It comes full circle to think that the coin Charlie found once was in the hands of his predecessor.

@@taliagmail.com2005 I loved the little easter eggs referencing the original movie. My favorite one (spoiler if you don't wanna know) is that sweet note wrapped inside the chocolate from his mother at the end being the first golden ticket.
