My method is a chokecherry. Compound shaft with either sage grouse or Canada goose feathers. My usual point is a blue bawls bottle bottom and painted with cheap women's nail polish. I'll post up a few photos when I my seasonal 20 ready. I know you are on FB selfbow nation. Hope all is well Waylon.

What do you think of self harvested ash shoots?

Sorry, i can't speak from a place of experience on that. I know ash gets used for shafts fairly ofthen so my guess is that it could work well. I'd say give it a try. It may take some experimentation to find out what diameter you typically need to get the spine you want.
