What kind of chimney caps do they use? Curved metal tops, no screens. Humidity will bond to the mesh and block the flues, so they are illegal to have spark screens in most of Europe.
What does the inside of a Swiss fireplace look like? Firebricks, like American ones!
Do they parge their smoke chambers? Yes, with flat bricks.
Do they connect more than one solid-fuel burning appliance to single chimney? Yes. But the customer has to use only one at a time, and must shut a damper on the unused appliance's connector pipe before using the other stove.
