I decided to build an automaton that looks like me. He's using a mini table saw that looks like my saw. As the crank is turned, the saw blade spins and the mini Tinkerer raises and lowers his board onto the table saw top. The box is made of oak, the mini Tinkerer is carved from bass wood, and the table saw is a variety of woods with an aluminum top. All gears were cut by me from patterns I downloaded. I turned the pulley and crank handle on the lathe. This was a fun and challenging project. Because it was so tedious and I was figuring it out as I went, I didn’t film the building of it. This video shows the finished product and all the details. Filmed on the iPhone X with my iPhone camera stand. Video music is "It's Only Worth it if You Work For it" by Neffex.
