I recently got my first starter lathe and I wanted to dive right into segmented turning. This project, due it its size, was a little ambitious for a beginner turner. The segmented top that I turned on the lathe is made from Maple and Padauk wood. Each segmented ring consisted of 24 pieces and I used a 24 piece wedge (7.5 degrees) on my wedgie sled. The rest of the box is 1/2" continuous grain maple with padauk splines. The hinges and latches were purchased from Rockler and the handle was found on Amazon. I will update with dimensions when I am able to measure it.

Great looking lunch box. I could see adding a tray inside and making it a tool box. Well done 👍

Nice looking project, and a great recovery from the tapered turning! Out of curiosity, what Ridgid model table saw is that? I have their contractor model from around 2005, and it does not have provisions for a riving knife.
