Hello and welcome to the channel. In this video I take an off-cut of beech counter-top and on the woodturning lathe, remake one of my earlier projects but on a much smaller scale.
Turned on three separate but parallel axis, this piece looks like a small crankshaft or like the goblet sat on top of a stack of small wooden coins.
My original, earlier piece can be seen here: • Woodturning an eccentr...
Here is a much cleaner and larger version as a candle stick: • Multi Axis Wood Turnin...
The whole project took approximately 20 minutes and I have kept most of the footage at it's original speed however, the initial rounding of the blank and subsequent changing of axis has been sped up by 4 times.
A little light sanding off camera and a coat of flaxseed oil to finish.
Couple of hiccups during the process, skew chisel catch (spiral) and I almost lost it again whilst adjusting the tool rest, thankfully neither ending in profanity.
