They should make wooden discs as trophies for tournaments. Also, maybe look into making them pdga approved or if it's even possible. Not only would they be better to lose than plastic, but they would most likely float.

ive heard the oak ones are super overstable. might want to look into a birch or cedar blend disc for more distance
