Woodbridge Town are third in the league and got back to winning ways with a comprehensive home win, Mark Ray scoring twice and Jake Rudge and Liam Scopes also on the scoresheet.
Carlos Edwards' effort after 40 seconds went inches over the bar for the Woodpeckers. The hosts took the lead after 6 minutes when George Bowman's excellent through ball found top scorer Ray and his header beat away keeper Will Viner to make it 1-0. Luke Mallett's shot tested Viner and Ray's shot was deflected for a corner after 19 minutes. Mallett found the net after 25 minutes but it was ruled out for handball and a minute later for the visitors Michael Campbell's effort just missed the target. Scopes' through ball after 29 minutes found Aaron Churchyard and his header went just over the bar. The home side doubled their lead after 33 minutes when Edwards' pass was met by Rudge and his neat finish beat Viner and it was 2-0.
Ryan Keeble was clean through after 46 minutes but his effort failed to teat Viner. Campbell's shot after 50 minutes was well parried by home keeper Alfie Stronge and the rebound cleared off the line by Bowman after a rare away attack. Ray beat the offside trap after 52 minutes and his shot made it 3-0 to the Woodpeckers. Mallett's cross after 54 minutes was met by Ray but he missed the target and a deserved hattrick. On the hour the visitors gained a penalty after a push inside the area, Max Melanson stepped up and his powerful spot kick hit the net off the bar to make it 3-1. Scopes' effort after 66 minutes was tipped over the bar by Viner and Campbell's cross was well saved by Stronge after 74 minutes. The home side peppered the away goal for the last ten minutes and Viner saved well from Edwards and Ray, Substitute Nathan Read's shot from an acute angle hit the post and in the last seconds, Bowman's accurate corner was headed back by Churchyard and Scopes headed in to make it 4-1.
