My 3-year build of Rum Runner, a beautiful wooden boat built from free plans downloaded from the internet. Full build reports at eddiegregory77.wixsite.com/ed...
I really enjoyed watching this. What made it even better was that we had a great holiday in Portavogie a couple of years ago, just around the corner from the chippy by the harbour. 😁
Hello 👋 i love your video It inspired me to build my own boat. That's why I've looked through your video frame by frame several times 👍. It's been a few years since your boat was built. Has everything held watertight to this day? Could you please upload a recent video again? Thank you for the inspiration and greetings from Germany
That is a beautiful boat. How skilled the builder was to put that together. Congrats on your great skill who ever did it! I saw another video of it at Sea. That's a great boat! Love the name as we had a boat with that name many years ago!
A wonderful, beautiful and well-made work. I hope you will help everyone by sending the measurements of this most wonderful and most beautiful building ever. Greetings.
Such a beautiful boat, Its the perfect fishing boat. Its too bad it was recorded on video I would love to watch the process of this entire build. You did a great job ...cheers. I friend of mine built a very similar boat like this in nfld he's been fishing his whole life.
Nice job m8, been looking for live on, part time, pull apart, cat plans for about 6 months but, most of them are to long or bit more complicated than I want. Excellent music choice too the 'Onedin Line BBC tv series written by Aram Khachaturian, but you probably know that already.
Nice boat, great effort in the build. Can i ask why you didn't opt for cockpit drains straight through the transom, instead of relying on electric bilge pumps? The reason in my mind is if you get caught out in bad weather and have an electrical malfunction and for some reason couldn't pump the bilge manually, you would't have to worry about water building up in the cockpit as it would exit on it's own
Very Impressive build ! The cabin and bow really makes her a good looking boat ! Are those Glen L plans or did you use someone else’s design ? I’m a retired woodworker and Ive always wanted to build one for myself in a similar size and design as i have owned 17or 18 boats so far in my life and wood ones have such a great ride yet i like the Epoxy idea for maintenance reasons and not having to do the press oaks traditional wood boats need
hola amigo felicitaciones por su proyecto le quedo genial yo tambien quiero empesar un proyecto similar y estoy en busca de consejos y que me puedan brindar un plano el cual me pueda giar soy de lima - Peru Le reitegro mis felicidades.
You can only fibreglass certain wooden boats. Clinker and some carvel boats are a no no due to the amount of movement between planks. Marine ply or strip layup is a much more stable base. I roughened up the surface and used a very slow setting first coat of resin so it really sank in over a week before the glass coats.
Sorry about the crap music mate. I had other music on my video but it was copyright, RU-vid allowed me to remove copyright and replace it with their music! I know some of it is crap, but I'm stuck with it now, can't make anymore changes.
