Yay! I took my big puzzle apart thinking I could make a small star, then forgot how to put the big one back together. Rather than spend all afternoon reinventing the wheel, I found this excellent video. Thanks!
Oh man, thanks for this! I received one of these wooden stars for Christmas and I was having trouble even getting it apart. So thanks again! Great puzzles though. :-)
the second small star has a more elegant solution ... make two identical ends of 3 and align and slide them together - the alignment part is tricky in that is might appear off angle but unlike your attempt it works with finely tools pieces (ie you don't need to relax/fudge the holding of the pieces) edit ... looks like at least 3 others have already mentioned this
the second one can be solved a lot easier by creating 2 halves using 3 pieces each, so that it makes like a triangle shape, then the 2 halves just slides together with no trouble.
I guess it's really up to you what to show and what not to show, and I respect that, but the official way is putting the two halves together. Just saying.
When I first saw the picture of your toy at 00:40, I thought it's the one I played when I was small: it's a cube but we could "flip" it open to form a star. But when you said it's a "puzzle", I knew it's not what I thought.
@xtiminater Yours might be the one I show from 2:26. The green pad is just for this video. To have less noise on the video from my wooden table. And the pieces show better than on a wooden background.
Good video. I figured mine out, its the 6 pieced (identical) snowflake one, but I thought the last piece wasnt going in so well. So I looked up youtube for the solution and I was doing it right. Personally I think its a crappy design that leaves a guy wondering if theres supposed to be an easier way. I am going to get the one with a proper key.
@Z39hyrr I found it at a street vendor here, by luck. It's called star burst. But I don't know where else and under what name it can be found. Even on youtube, there are only few videos just showing it.
Thank you. Mine is the small one, except that all six pieces are exactly the same. Your solutilon still works, but it takes a little maneuvering. By the way, does the green pad you're working on serve any special purpose (like maybe to help pieces stay in place while you're using both hands on another piece)?
hey um could you please help me! i have a colorful one the same size and shape but it wont come apart! im afraid if i keep trying ima break it :/. so will you mabey help me with it please?
Not Possible tried everything even asked a friend to help me so we had 4 hands! Maybe mine is just so hard because yours can move easily without falling apart....
that second star is literally one of the easiest puzzles ever. you're just making more work for yourself struggling to shove that last piece in. make two half's bro, you're embarrassing yourself
+Zen Carter Hold the star so that the straight edges are directly upwards on the left and right sides. Hold the straight-up pieces and pull away from each other.
