Looks fantastic. The concrete foundation is an awesome way to stabilize the entire project and keep it looking and working great. I would definitely do the same if I was to build something like this. Beautiful job.
Very nice but what's even better is, you take the time to answer people's questions. I had a 24 foot above ground pool installed 23 years ago. I figured it might last 5 years or so. I've had to charge the liner once, in 23 years, and the pump motor. The memories the pool created with kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews over those 23 is priceless for both them and my wife and I. Now the pool gets used mostly by my dogs. I paid $6000 all in for excavation, installation, and electrical (buried lines). That's $260 per year, plus maintenance and chemicals. Today's lumber prices would make your pool expensive. But it's a beautiful job
This looks GREAT! Do you have the blueprints anywhere? My wife and I want to do this as a DIY project. I get lost on what you used as a bolt the support system beams to the ground.
Was never a big fan of raised pools before but I think they are a good idea really because it means if you come home from the pub drunk and walk through your garden to the door you aren't gonna just fall in.
Hi M#S I am building a similar pool at 5m x 10m with 150mm foam insulation in the walls & floor and wondered if you could help? Did you have any problem with the top of the walls flexing with wave action in the Pool? as my pool will be 10m long any flexing will be exacerbated. Did you make the liner undersize to stretch it into place? Did you use a vacuum pump? Have you had any rot problems at the base? - I saw you applied a dpc to the bottom plank , but I am going to raise the base timbers by 50mm to get them away from the water but this obviously increases the bending force on the walls as the bracket moves away from the bending point. Has one skimmer been enough to keep the surface clear without the water inlet being opposite the skimmer? Sorry for so many questions, your pool looks lovely, well done to you all.
Hi My pool is 4x3m in the center, and with a full pool, the deviation of the longer walls does not exceed 10mm, with large waves it feels like a gentle movement of the wall but does not bend any more. I am now 3 years old by the pool and nothing is happening to it. Next year I will only change the top rim to BSH wood, i.e. glued wood to make it more stiff. For a 10m pool, I would use metal brackets embedded in concrete and covered with wood, and of course thicker boards. I think about 6 cm. I made the pool foil about 5 mm smaller than the pool after flooding, the water tightened and there is no fold on it. For your pool, I would recommend two skimmers and a sand pump with a capacity of about 12,000 liters per hour After three years of use, I did not notice any signs of rotting (I used an OSMO impregnation) If you have any questions, please write :) best regards
@@MS-pd6rm Many thanks for your help. I am surprised you get so little movement with the waves. As you suggested I will use welded metal for the uprights to increse the stiffness. I will let you know how it goes. Yet again, thanks for the reply.
AMAZING!!! I never thought of building a pool from wood but it's now on my to do list. I just completed a beautiful cabana in my yard and was planning to put up a pool. I'm so glad I saw this before doing so, I think a wood build pool stained the same color as my cabana would look incredible! Thank you so much for posting your build but even more for being so kind and replying to those with questions. A+ Job A+ Guy 👍🙏
Hello The materials cost about 2,100 euros, 2,400 $, 1,850 pounds. The project lasted about two weeks. I bought the liner at www.wszystkodobasenow.pl/folia-basenowa Greetings :)
This is stunning. I noticed you reinforced the outside bottom of the pool. What did you use? As well how did you deal with the inset bolts on the inside of the pool that hold the 4x4 uprights in place? They would need to be padded or covered to keep from puncturing the liner but I didn’t see in the video if there was a second concrete pour inside to cover them? Again stunning work.
@@MS-pd6rm It is a great project, do you have a link where you bought all the accessories for your pool? If it is not too much trouble, will you have the exact measurements? I leave you a👍
Witam, Czym zabezpieczane bylo drewno? Czy trzeba powtarzac ten proces kazdego roku? Jezeli tak, to czy mocno trzeba szlifowac drewno? Z gory dziekuje i pozdrawiam.
Witam Basen mam 4 rok i dopiero w przyszłym roku będę go malował ponownie - jeśli dobry impregnat (ja mam osmo) to raz na 5 lat starczy. lekki szlif i nowa warstwa
1- You get what you pay for... 2- Store bought pools don't look like a piece of art that will continue to look like new year after year with little more than a coat stain/wood preserver. And 3. I do believe it could be built without pouring an entire slab, though for the little extra money I know I would.
All of the sudden the interior of the pool appears white, I assume its the linen or the fiber to hold the water; I would like to know how you did it since its no shown in the video. I bit of explanation would clarify the time lapse on the issue. Beyond that, as a new way to build pools its really wonderful method. I'm thinking to build one for my kids.
Hi The white material is the base for the pool foil. I bought pool liners in rolls and glued them with PVC glue. The pool is now 3 years old and there are no problems with it. I recommend :)
Sorry, I don't know what I was thinking about when I wrote it to you in Polish :) concrete has a thickness of about 20 cm. The ground under the concrete is hardened
@@Mark-en5sf The total is around $ 3900. The price includes a swimming pool, filter pump, solar foil, liner and the entire assembly. The price does not include a concrete screed. best regards
