Mr. Canterbury, wild thought while I was watching your video, a polymer handle, with aluminum head with matching threads for Wedgie tool, but, also, a shovel head with matching threads that can be put on the handle as well.

I dunno about this... anytime you get a woody and a wedgie at the same time there's gonna be mixed feelings. LOL

Talk about smart. As someone who has just started learning how to use an axe, that is a piece of equipment I could feel 100% confident with. Confident I can do what ever I need to with it, and confident I'm not going to mortally wound myself while on a solo trip.

I used wedges when I was growing up many years ago in the country and that is how we busted up wood to bring home and then further cutting it up for use in the heater and kitchen stove in my grandparents home.

I use almost the same forcible entry wedges, got them on eBay, except mine have teeth on the angled side so it "bites" as it goes in, they aren't very durable though as I have already had to dress them up on a belt sander twice even after only using wooden batons on them. This is something I'm definitely interested in, thanks Dave, you the man!

Great idea, camp at state parks where you have to buy the wood and I often baton it into smaller pieces that burn better. Sometimes I get pieces that are a tough to baton and at 8 ounces this is a no brainer to throw in my camp fire gear bin. Frickin' awesome idea.

@maxpinson5002

This is a good idea for the folks who want to baton. The price is less than that of a good knife that would have a notch broken out of the blade by batoning. You don't necessarily have to hit an old nail or something metal grown into the wood. A hidden small knot will ruin a decent knife. I have one here on the table that lost a chunk to a small knot. The bow drill divots are a great idea

I've been carrying a marbles # 2 pocket Hatchet for years. Because, I don't want to baton my knife. I do the same thing you just made. I like your idea better! I always wished the pocket Hatchet was a little wider for splitting tasks. BRAVO! Nice job. I like the soft cross checkering on the cheeks to help with jumping out of the split on tighter grained wood. Thanks for the review. On that new item. Stay safe. be mindful of others and have fun in the woods. Catch you in the next one!😉

For the UK bushcraft scene, I think it's a really decent bit of kit. Hopefully, they organize a distributor. Although I think carrying an axe in the woods as a tool is a legitimate carry reason I am reluctant to carry one due to my woodlands requiring a walk to get too and I don't want to open carry an axe really.
