If you have not seen and heard Tommy live put it on your bucket list. It is a life changing experience. I never knew that many sounds could come out of one guy and one guitar. He is just amazing.
they are so tight in the pocket,it's incredible,because that usually only comes from playing together for many years and I know these guys have not sat down together that often except to record the album together. When I heard Tommy say that Frank Vignola was his favorite guitarist I had never heard of him. Now I see why, they really draw it out of each other.

Incredibly, as fast as they begin, the tempo picks up slightly about midway through. (Priceless guitar-geek moment: At 3:17, Tommy throws in a whole-tone scale, and Frank looks at him and seems to roar with laughter, as though they're sharing a dirty joke that no one else is getting.) (Addendum, 2 years later) All props to the virtuosic Gary Mazzaroppi on bass; a huge thumbs down to the video director of this improvisational masterpiece, as s/he seemd to have no idea who was soloing, when.
Gibson Kalamazoo. Check around and you'll find the whole story behind it. It was a gift from a dieing man and Tommy promised to play it. Play it he did, and still does. Wow.
It makes an old player like me want to laugh, cry and yell all at the same time. Pure fun!!! I noticed the camera work also but jeez the playing is so fast no wonder the cam person got confused ;0). Woodsongs does much better than most at showing us what's going on up close.

I told the dude at Guitar Center that I wanted to buy a nice acoustic guitar. So he talked me into buying some cheap ass thing called a Gibson Dove. I brought it home and tried to play along with these 2 guys. I think the guitar is defective, there was no way I could follow these dudes. I want my freaking money back.
I sure hope that was the last tune of the show. Otherwise, what could any human being possibly do to follow something such as this? Just hearing it is a humbling experience for anybody who has ever even imagined playing the guitar.

Aryo Taheri they are... on most of the songs :/ I don’t know if they wanted to put this in a Django style and hurried up all the songs. Normally they play it much slower and more musically

Like you? Don't know jazz. If anybody knows jazz it is these three. They would get about 100 million times more respect from their peers than you would for your statement.
Obviously, this JAZZ combo has total control of their arrangement of Caravan even at this breakneck tempo. For those who are unfamiliar with Americana, JAZZ in its many forms falls within this vast genre. What is Jazz? Texas Swing to Psychedelic Ambient to Miles Davis's a-tonal solos over unstructured chord progressions. There is no board of scholars that can determine what constitutes as JAZZ. This comment is a JAZZ phrase.
