Yeah, I'm not far behind, and Tony de la Bareda, bass player for these dudes a long time ago, has long since left on the Great Off-Ramp, Tony "Olaf" was a dear friend, and we had some good stories about the road. Whatever, man - until my own off-ramp appears, rock on.
They're doing a good job. Keeping the music alive. Fito's drumming is still interesting and compelling. Bob, Alan Larry and Henry are in the heaven of rock. Guess, they would appreciate their music to live on. And don't forget to boogie! 🎉
Fito is an incredible drummer. He threw his drumsticks out into the audience during his "Refried Boogie" solo and beat on those drums like they were congas. Everyone went nuts !! Same for when The Bear would leap up to land on the beat. What great vocals. Owl and Sunshine were milking the boogie blues 😎 Larry was immersed and animated. Linn County opened. well i was never there at woodstock born wrong side of the pond thank goodness for vinyl and recording tape and discs must have watched canned heat perform this hundreds and hundreds of times ,,this version is also pretty good

They used to play pretty often at the old Jungle Land in Thousand Oaks, Ca. Unfortunately, I never got to see Alan play as he'd already passed.

Yes, I certainly remember Al "Blind Owl" Wilson. All the rest of the original band too. I listen to Canned Heat almost everyday. They made blues music fun!

I first saw Canned Heat in 1968 at the first Boston Tea Party location which was more like a Fillmore west type of venue. All the original musicians with Bob Hite aka the "Bear", Henry Vestine, and Massachusetts' own, "The Blind owl", Alan Wilson. Their cover of Wilburt Harrison's, "Let's Work Together" is still kick ass today! They were students of the blues, who became scholars, who became masters. Gotta love, "Turpentine Moan!"
I moved to Maui in Dec. 1970 .. It was Paradise !! I left in '76 because the "Powers To Be" were paving Paradise and putting up parking lots !! >>> J D
I saw them in 1972 in Baltimore MD with the Chamber's bros....This isn't the original members...maybe the drummer.Blind owl.and Pig Pen .a both sang guitar harmonic....that was the wildest concert..Every one sat on the floor and rolled joints....This is a garage band...not Canned heat
