An aerial view of the original 1969 Woodstock Music Festival Site. Located in the small town of Bethel, NY. The site is now home to The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts; an upstate NY host to live music, shows, and mass gatherings.
Voice over is archival recordings of the festival's producer, John Morris, making announcements during the gathering.
Over these hallowed grounds a generation was defined.

Great piece of video and commentary, I've been to Bethel/Woodstock museum and grounds a couple times and It never gets old and a new memory Is made. Always something different I see, Life back then will never be again but at least It's preserved here so that we can all relive what was great. Thank You

It's sad to see the comments from jaded people saying it's been turned into a tourist trap. Instead of private land that you can't visit it has instead been purchased and has a museum educating people on the 60s and the festival and you can explore a lot of the original grounds. It's run by a non profit. You can see concerts in the amphitheater. Thanks to some visionary people this is a great site you can visit and see a lot of it how it was in the 60s. The Woodstock festival was supposed to be a for profit venture, it only became free because they had no choice.

The Way it looks on the drive video is how it usually looks. The tourism isn't that often just inserts and farmers markets. Most tourists come and you nearly notice them and when you do it's cause they're the only people around the area lol.

I’m a huge fan. Their museum makes rock n roll hall of fame look like a thrift store. Love the land and woods and all the walking you can do visiting there. I’ve met wonderful people too. I go at least once a year. 50th was awesome!

What they have done to the sight is amazing, a lasting legacy for generations to come. True ! it looks a bit of a tourist attraction, but if it was just the field and nothing else, how bland would that be ? unless they held a Woodstock festival every year. I cant believe its now 53 years on, since those glorious 3 days in 1969. Makes me sad to think of all the young people who attended, that are no longer with us. Many went home too the draft ,never to return, but many were changed forever after their Woodstock experience. They learned about humanity and humility, and took with them a greater sense of caring. And it "did" define that generation, for all time. . .and we need all that now, more than ever. . .I wish I could have been there.

Let's not get too carried away with the altruistic nature of this event...for the most part, it was just a chance to party and enjoy the music....most folks attending, ten years later, were just as predictably "conformist" as their parents were.

As with Our Generation, the energies, the imaginings, the hope and plans for a future unknown... this place has changed with time. Some good and to serve others even those yet unborn and some could have just been left to be as it was. May we never lose what was found during those days and continue to bring Light, Love, Peace and Hope to the World and what it/we have become. July 2021

It is sad to me, that I was 10 years old in Kansas in 1969. For what I know about Woodstock is from videos on RU-vid. Love and Peace, that we don't have today 2022. I wish you could place the stage and where people joined to watch the bands. I can't visual it as it is today, it's confusing.

was there in 94 at 25 anniversary ...camped there for 10 days , didn't cost a dime, total free show with lotsa Woodstock veterans playing .also was a ufo flying disc over our camp about 200 yards behind original stage in a little clearing . sober btw , ...not light in sky ,a metallic disc, bell shaped,25 feet across , no lights. no sound, right at dusk..close enough to see the windows that went across the top . maybe 75 feet above our heads … heard people in woods coming up trail, turned to yell for them to look ,turned back and it was gone.. saw it for a good 10 seconds. Woodstock is indeed scared land ,lota energy, cosmic place .especially when you realize that there is no past or future ,just the eternal now .everything happens all at once . I am heading back for 50th anniversary , nothing free this time ,but maybe this time I can catch a ride home.... -infinite creation dreams us into ecstatic creations of reality -for ever and ever...

You can still see the shape of the actual area of the show, which is cool. I didn't see anything there, but it'd be cool if they built a nice little permanent amphitheater on the spot they can use to put on shows. Imagine how great it'd feel to be sitting out in the stars one night in the exact spot of Woodstock listening to some great music. I'd be like a dream. Maybe they have something they put up for events and take back down. Either way I'd love to see a show there.

The Woodstock festival site has its good and its bad sides. The good is that the concert site itself that you see in the old pictures has not been built upon and can be visited and walked upon. The bad is that the "museum" up on the hill overlooking the concert site has a totally un-woodstock vibe. It's better fit for a Long Island winery or wedding venue. Well, you can't win them all.
