This reminds me of the seasoning and aquarium product mountainous volcano of smells that quickly awakened me. It was in the mid 90s, when my small children woke up before me one weekend. Probably a bit over a hundred bucks worth of seasoning and fish aquarium products. I cant imagine how much it would cost today 🤪. Had to air out the whole house.
You should market it as a quilters egg. So many quilters have piles of fabric, it would be a nice piece to use as a quilters award or just a nice gift to a quilter to use on their design boards as a weight.
I would like to see a egg turned from a bunch of the colored transparent dice with just a tiny hint of sparkle , I think that would look awesome, especially if you use mini dice where you could still see some of the pips. Great job as always. Super sweet of Nicole to help you cut up all that fabric 😊
Ohhhhhhhhhh! I’m at 14:57 and just realised! YOURE MAKING AN EASTER EGGGGGGG!!!!! That’s so rad! And giving it to someone random too! You’re a legend Ben. I love seeing your videos pop up!
I Loved this idea. I think an interesting everyday item you could try is just the handy dish sponge. I would love to see how the texture would turn out . I have really enjoyed your creativeness, thank you again for another stunning piece..
I think that an egg turned from yarn scraps would look super cool. There is an enormous variety of colors, textures, and weights of yarn, so it would probably turn out really nice in the end.
Eggshells in resin brown and white shell layers. The perfect 🥚 Another idea is leaves dried fall leaves like red Japanese maple brown oak leaves yellow maples etc. If you collect them fresh you can flatten em in books to get flat layers or not.
randomly got recommended this, i dont think ive ever heard someones voice sound so pleasant and relaxing?? amazing video - will def be binging more later!
I’m also a quilter and I’d love an egg like that. I bet many others who work (or play!) with fabric would too. Maybe fabric eggs should become more of a regular thing in the Etsy shop?
I was just thinking, _use a rotary cutter!_ A rotary fabric cutter could take on a few layers of fabric at a time! Just do squares, and let the lathe round it out... Even rolling the corners off with a cutter would make octagons, which for the purpose, is close enough to a circle.
Guessing you have a lot of sawdust piled up from the projects. Wonder how it’d look if you did different layers with dust from different types of wood? Could even mix in dust from other materials…
Absolutely beautiful!! Unfortunately I discovered your channel and watched this video too late to have a chance at receiving the beautiful fabric egg, dagnabbit, but I will be looking into your Etsy offerings in the future nevertheless!
While I was watching you make your fabric egg, I wondered what one would look like if you added dried plant seed pods and tops of grasses, etc. I really enjoyed this and will pass it on to my brother. Victoria
Wow that is phenomenal. So beautiful. As a sewing crazy lady and coin collector…that’s perfect! I just found your channel so I can’t wait to see more works.
This reminded me of Peter Brown and Nick Zametti's forays with micarda and after seeing the insane amount of fabric you had I kind of get why you didn't soak layer by layer of fabric... It would've been an eternity! Amazing and beautiful project as always man
Really nice Ben...when the 'beauty shots' were shown at the end, my first impression/thought was a really, REALLY detailed view of Jupiter! The layers resemble the stripes so much.
My first time here, dad had a lathe. I love your ideas! I agree with the buttons. My Grandma saved her buttons. Most were she'll, MOP, bone. Buttons before plastic! They are beautiful, and I was about to make something for my mom. I'd like to see she'll and old old buttons.
@@Rareplymouth ohhh that would be cool with all the shades of eggshells! like with darker browns at the bottom, then tans, then beige, then white at the top!!!! your idea would be awesome too!
@@jeanette8943 thank you I thought the layering would be beautiful. I have box turtles so I've ground up eggshells in a mortal and pestle to add calcium to their food. It just seems like larger shell chunks would be awesome. The natural tans and browns, ivory n white would be a beautiful neutral toned decor piece. Wild bird eggs are amazing colors. (No wild eggs should be disturbed) just a personal disclaimer as I only have captive bread turtles, never remove a turtle from the wild. They aren't a good pet for children. Lots of work.
Color some (a lot) of eggs with dye and put the broken shell pieces in resin, and turn that into an egg. This was a very cool project. I look forward to more.
Just watched and I loved it. I'm a quilter and I wanted to help you cut all that fabric by layering and using a rotary cutter! But alas...the job is done. And it's AWESOME! C Habig. Elwood IN. USA
Gorgeous, brilliant, and absolutely amazing. I love to quilt because of the beautiful colors and patterns on the cotton fabrics I use. You have brought to life the fabrics you chose. These eggs are wonderful.
That is your most BEAUTIFUL egg yet! Looks like layers of different types of geological sediment! I would buy it! Please consider making others for sale!
@@BensWorx you would need to figure out a way to punch the circles out of fabric instead of cutting with sizers. Looks gorgeous, but the time you had to put in this one was real.
Really cool idea. Love, love, love the fabric egg idea (you could have custom orders having parents/brides/widows/ers sending you clothes fabrics from children, wedding party clothes/loved ones clothes, etc cut into the square size or circle shape & then you create a memorial egg (of corse at higher price, but ppl wld pay that for memorializing events/loved ones- less space than quilts). Just a thought! Great art!!!
This has come out beautiful! The customer who gets this will be very lucky...as for egg that canyou do some of indigenous seeds...tht could look pretty cool 👍
oh that's pretty! micartas always take a lot more resin/glue than you expect. it would be horrendous for your tools but an egg made of screws or metal swarf would be pretty cool.
@CyborgOctopus Okay. Two words here that are strange to me: 1) micartas and 2) swarf Going to check with Google on these... thank you for increasing my vocabulary!
I think a collection of items a mother/parent keeps of their child would be an incredibile keesake. Baby clothes, recieving blankets, a few treasures buried, pacifier, not to sound gross- but we all keep their baby teeth- lock of hair, etc. I was able to have one child and it makes letting go of her items difficult. I can't be the only one. If you have something small and so special, beautifully crafted, I think parting with other items could be easier. Just a thought. I loved watching your process. I'll be checking out your etsy shop! Thanks
Beauty egg! Egg-cellent work as always Ben! 😎👍🏼👊🏼 What about using like yarn and layering that? Maybe getting interesting squiggles? Or layering different nail polishes? I’ll have to think of a few more for suggestions.
A thick knit scarf that is then rolled up might be grand for this idea. It would spiral out from the center while having a knit pattern along the sides.
I really loved this video! I'm learning to quilt and found this so inspirational!! your work is awesome. I'm also a boardgamer as a hobbiest. Do you think you can create a fun piece that has all sorts of gaming resources? meeples, wood, coal, iron, pegs, dice, tokens.... and the list goes on!! 🙂
I'd love to see layers of make-up - you could even use old stuff friends and family are planning to throw away to make it an up-cycled product! It's also a cheap way to colour the egg :)
This was so worth watching! Ben, it’s relaxing watching you create. When I’m stressing I sit and see what you are making that day. Silly I know…just wanted you to know that it’s not always about making thing but how creative ppl can be. Thanks for sharing.
I just stumbled across your channel. I'm impressed by your creativity. I've been turning wood as a hobby for over 20 years and while I have turned wood and resin, I've never once thought of turning cloth and resin. Good work.
Oh Ben, this is beautiful 😍. I’m sorry I missed the chance for this wonderful egg. I’m looking forward to watching more of your fantastic work. 👍👍. I enjoy watching
New subscriber here and I just gotta say ...I freaking love it!! I get bored and do so many random art projects ..but over the last year after losing my baby brother and close uncle I've been depressed..so watching u is super nice right now ..maybe watching your videos can help me gather strength and go back to all my art❤️
You should try casting egg shells and turning that into an egg. Maybe even dye the shells first? Could be a fun experiment. Good stuff looking forward to this series.
