Woodturning a Christmas Snowman with a moveable head. Inspired from Clair's video • Woodturning | A Snowman making it out of the woods ... check out the Highland Cow !!
Hi Valerie... thank you very much.... I wish that I had insulated my workshop roof ... I get the noise and condensation drips as well... good move on your part... the only good thing about the rain is that it's a good excuse to spend time in the workshop... I hope that you and yours have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year... take care...All the best.....Andy
Hi Steve...thank you very much.. I'm glad that you liked it... I hope that you and yours have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year... take care...All the best.....Andy
Buon anno 2024 e buona salute.
Hi Roberto... My pleasure... The lanterns were nice to make.. The Snowman is a really fun project, although I find it easier to turn the whole thing in one piece.. It saves getting the hat to fit the head... I hope that you are enjoying your new Woodturning hobby as much as I do... Thank you so much for your kind words... I hope that you and yours have had a lovely Christmas and have a happy New Year.. Take care my friend and all the best from Andy
Hi August... thank you... I'm glad that you liked it... yes I enjoy making these fun little projects... I hope that you and yours have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year... take care my friend...All the best.....Andy
Hi Andy...cool snowman ... maybe instead of a magnet in the body you could tap a piece of metal into the hollow ...just a thought...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...stay safe...press on😎 Joe
Hi Radio Face... thank you... you know, I never thought about that... I got it into my head to use 2 magnets and never thought that a piece of metal on one side would work also ... and I guess it would allow the head to move more ...I have some more on the go and will give it a try... cheers ... I hope that you and yours have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year... take care...All the best.....Andy
Hi Andy Should have got the snowman tae send snow rather than rain. A+ for your fortitude in continuing. Keep safe and well mate. All the best tae you and the family. And lang may yer lum reek with other folks coal.
Hi Jim... good to hear from you... it would be nice to see a bit of snow... I guess that you have had a fair bit... all we seem to get down here is the rain... I wish you and yours all my best ... long may your chimney smoke with other folks coal too ... see.. I speak Scottish too.. Haha... happy Burns night... take care my friend...All the best.....Andy
Those looked like a lot of fun Andy. And the magnet ? Great out of the box thoughts for that one, very good ! Oh, and I had forgotten about the Cornish winter sunshine and how loud it can get. Thanks for showing them to us. Thank you 🙏 Stay safe. -Mike😷💉

NICE! I love the articulated head feature. There is a guy there in Cornwall that makes an abrasive paste that would've worked great on this one. He looks very similar to you actually. Be safe.
Hi Calvin... thank you very much.. the magnets worked a treat... I will look that guy up in Cornwall... perhaps throw a bit of cash his way for some of the good stuff ... and if as you say he looks like me ... he needs all the help he can get !!! I hope that you and yours have a great year ahead... take care...All the best.....Andy
Nicely done Andy 😁. Love the spanner trick 👍. Yet another great creation. Think it's a bit late for me to turn one of these now for this year. I should have had a go when I watched Claire's one (also awesome). Have a safe and happy Christmas Andy 🎅👍
Hi Frank... thank you very much... I'm glad that you liked him... the spanner is not my idea but it works very well... its never too late to turn a snowman... I still have a Christmas tree video to come... hope you had a good Christmas day and happy new year... take care...All the best.....Andy
All we see these days are wooden snowmen, not real ones. We all know why that is. But yours still looks very nice Andy. I wonder if you could stick a notepad under that magnet. Have you tried that?

Thank you for a great informative video. May I ask please, where you get the eyes from? Do they have a particular brand name / makers name/ size that you prefer?
Hi Sam... My pleasure.. I'm glad that you liked it.. These were from Amazon I think... Just type in... 6mm black plastic safety eyes... If I remember correctly I drilled 4mm holes for them... I hope that this helps, have fun... Take care my friend...All the best.....Andy
