Woodturning - Broken Bowl 

Martin, my heart sank for you at 06.37 it was at the bottom of despair for you for more than ten seconds (I played it back and timed it!!). A long time. But I realized you weren't sunk yet when I looked at how much video was still left. True to your form, you rose to the challenge. You already had so much time and effort invested in this project I knew something exemplary was going to rise out of the ashes (pieces). This piece has to be called 'The Resurrection'. Absolutely 'smashed' it again, no pun intended - brilliant save and as always, a stunner. Tony.😎

A beautiful bit of wood ruined - and then miraculously saved. Most of us would have uttered a few expletives and put that on the burn pile, but you salvaged that piece brilliantly and produced and wonderful result!

when it parted first time I freaked out, then...fair go , oh bugga off he's not going to try again. I swear my heart was beating crazy when back on the lathe. Then you start colouring it, oi dont be so damn stupid I thought, but sir, you saw more in it than I did. I absolutely love it. Well done

The spalting pattern on this piece is gorgeous! Shame about the spontaneous separation feature, but great to see something wonderful result from it.

I could see that rim flexing hard before the explosion. On a later shot I saw that your lathe speed was 1609. That is really fast for a piece of that diameter. I am sorry that that disaster happened but the final result is absolutely beautiful too. Thank you for showing us the fail as it lets us mere mortals realize that even the pros have ups and downs
