In this video, I am turning a bowl using only one carbide tool. Can I turn it as fast as using a traditional tool?
This video is aimed at new turners using my Carbide Chisels.

Thanks for the answer, now you need to due 2 videos about speed. Using as many tools as you need, which would be quicker, carbide or traditional? I find it interesting and educational to see and understand why you choose one chisel over another. Thanks again

As a really newbie turner I have learnt a lot from Glenns videos, best of all my introduction to carbide tools, my now & I must say highly recommended is Glenns 9mm round negative cutter/ tool, my now go to for many things, no nasty grabs , bangs etc I use mainly scrap woods of all types ,oak , teak, whatever the woodyard throws out for free, no problems shaping, hollowing etc. The best friendly tool for I think for anyone taking up turning, yes the cutters are good quality & stay sharp & replacements are sensibly priced. Well Done Glenn & Lisa, for all the videos & tools.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is really appreciated and makes it all worthwhile. Glad you are enjoying using this tool and watching the videos. Plenty more to come. Toodle pip for now. Glenn & Liza

The winner and still champeeen. Mr Teague. No big deal. I could have maybe done it myself in 2 or 3 or 3 1/2 hours.

You the MAN! Great job. I am a carbide man also. I love that you kept some bark on it. Question, why when roughing the outside and roughing the inside you did not present the chisel at an angle.? You have taught me so much. Thank you!

Hi Kevin, I used it flat just for speed. As long as you finish with a clean up cut it's all good. But your cutters won't last as long, you might have to sharpen it after about 25 or 30 bowls.

I’d often thought how quick could you turn something but… The pair of you were sooo quite - not a peep from either of you… It was good to see & learn from but, I’m sure I speak for most people We miss the time taken & of coarse the waffle Glenn, we love you passion for turning, your interaction with Liza & the occasional dog in the background. Absolutely brilliant, as usual you two 👍

We won’t be doing many like this. I like to have a waffle.

As Liza said ….. This was not really about speed, more about the fact you can turn a bowl with one carbide chisel! For me the real point of this is that once again you have shown that carbide chisels are capable of completing any project that is down with the so called, traditional tools! Great video Glenn ….. Definitely my favorite of the three single tool videos 🇨🇱🤠

I know Randy, the speed part is just for fun, but I do enjoy it.
