Woodturning. Can Negative Rake Carbide Cutters be sharpened?

Now the last series of videos I am bewildered. If the turning group doesn't have sharpening gear it will be carbide for me. I do have a set of traditional tools but it will be cheaper to go carbide rather than the sharpening equipment. Thanks for all you have given me this year. Have a joyous Christmas. ❤❤❤.

Brilliant Glenn I’ve bought one of your tools I think it was the parting tool 👍🏻 but I made a beading tool from an old chisel works a treat

Signor Glenn la ringrazio per quanto condivide con noi il suo saper fare, non capisco la sua lingua ma osservo i suoi filmati con molta attenzione spesso torno indietro per apprendere il più possibile dalle immagini. Sono molto interessato alle affilature delle sgorbie, è un pochino il mio debole, ho notato che ha affilato su una piastra delle piccole piastrine quadrate, solitamente hanno dei numeri ai lati, dei taglienti rotondi e quello a forma di rombo. Vorrei sapere la piastra inumidita con del WD 40 che materiale è? quando avrà occasione di affilare quei piccoli raschi per lei lo documenti per noi Neofiti, sono quasi 7 anni che tornisco come auto didatta, mi reputo sempre un principiante, purtroppo non è facile incontrare maestri come Lei.

Thanks for explanation on the details of making tools it was me that asked and made the comment on how many chiesels you would need ) It will be a cheap way for people to extend their collection . I am keen to make my own tools without spending a fortune . Would you make a vid on how to make the gouges from scratch? I know that's asking a lot but would really help I have several of those screwdrivers you mentioned Will have to try it

Oh yeah! I remember well the Internet free days, & the electricity for only a couple of hours a day due to the strikes & many many other things. I'm not that old, I think, 58. In my working days, I was a shotblaster, h&s was almost non existant. My grandkids don't believe half of what I tell them. They don't know their living & aren't interested in anything unless it has a plug on the end of it. Ah! the good old days!
