I put it in at 170 for about 12 hours. The compression clamps seem to help avoid splits.

@@CASWoodcraft Hopefully one day I’ll be able to graduate to a big boy lathe myself. I bought a 10x18 harbor freight lathe to learn and see if it was something I would like and stick with. Now it’s been 3 years. It’s safe to say that I enjoy it. lol. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get a Laguna, which I consider the best you can own and use, but I’ll certainly get something bigger.

Am also the brother in law of James who had an aspen cut down maybe six months ago. I am hoping that the aspen on this video was from him because i have some of the same wood too. it was bone dry after 12 hours. it shrank quite a bit too
