My father-in-law gave me this odd piece of wood he found at a tractor show in Ohio. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. It was definitely a burl, and if I had to guess, it was probably oak. Super hard, very interesting grain, as burl-wood tends to have.
Nothing fancy about the woodturning process. I cast it into resin to deal with the voids and then put it into a pressure pot for three days. I really like the resulting piece. I would even call it wood art!
