The guard lack of use not so foolish if paying attention and having the fence set square and use of proper push sticks. Having the hand on the wood beside the blade while passing the blade will likely eventually end in an accident . Possibly a very bad one that also could have been prevented.
And if you pay attention to what you are doing and have years of experience, guards can be a distraction. I'm 60, I don't use guards and I still have all my appendages
@@bobeven2093problem is the unforeseen issue that bucks the blade or whatever. I hope you never have that happen of course, but stay sharp and true to your experience.
I don't think he's of a population that has the money, nor cares about, the use of guards. Count your blessings before judgement. I am of a population, 50years of age, and find guards distracting and obtrusive. Have respect for what you're doing and paying attention is what I use. Or skill, if you will....
