With 3 days to go, young William was going to school dressed up as John Hammond from Jurassic Park fame. Resin needs time to cure so I was racing against the clock to finish. Did not need any mistakes!!!!
Fantastic piece Greg, kids are great for last minute demands. Was there a purple tinge in the resin or my eyes? How did your boy go at school? You can sure see the rush and Murphy's law is always around when you are in a rush. Thanks for sharing and stay safe. Keep on turning. Cheers, Bluey 👍
Thanks Bluey. William went fine. The purple tinge was an interference pigment that glowed when a light was held up against it. Well spotted as I only put a pinch in the resin.
Great looking piece but I winced so hard at 3:59 when you almost lost your piece by hitting the tool rest into it while it was still running. Should get into the practice of stopping the lathe before you adjust your rest, you can easily catch the piece and either destroy it, hurt yourself, or both!
