could cut a bit of spongy stuff with thin 2 sided tape to get that sanding bit so your fingers were not to close to that spinning shadow and still have some small pressure.

Interesting how loose the piece was when you finished it. Id have thought you couldnt do that without throwing the wood. Nice!

Gentle cuts is what you need. If it comes off, it comes off. It happens. It happens to everyone. I will always show when things don't go as planned and how to rectify it. Most people just cut the bad bits out. It's from those things that you learn.

What type of steel did you use ? I'm a welder by trade and want to make myself a 2 inch rest and a 9 or 12 inch rest buy I don't want to replace it all the time from Knicks and dents and such

@@haroldmartin8009 As a Welder you would know what steel is better to use, that won't get knicks and dents.

I do and there is many different t ones I figured a tool steel or drill rod but it gets expensive Quickly depending on steel grade and properties I was just curious to what you used not trying to aggravate

@@haroldmartin8009 Not aggravated. Just don't like to say to use something just because I'm using that. You use what is best for what you want it to do.
