I have been wanting to build my own boat from ply wood for a couple of years now and last week me and my kids started one! So far its built from 2 4x8 sheets of plywood and a couple of 2x4s ripped in half.

What a super great Dad! This is a wonderful video. Who really cares about how fancy the boar is? His kids WORKED on it too. They will never forget it either. ( My Dad built a boat when I was a kid and I was not allowed to even touch it!) I haven't forgotten THAT either!

Thanks! The kids love fishing already! I have a couple projects I need to finish up first and then ill hopefully get the boat finished up. It's hard to find motivation to work on it when all the lakes are frozen solid right now.

I went through some major life changes and this got pushed way to the back, this is one project I'm hoping to get done this winter so when my kids are here we can try it out!

You can buy a used boat hill for cheaper than building it; Made of aluminum

Maybe if I looked for a while I could find something as cheap as this but you can't buy the experience of building things with your kids!

Nice looks great! So did you do anything else besides cut off the excess and add the railings? It seems a lot more sturdy then 14:40 especially on the sides. I’m don’t have any experience doing woodwork so I’m not sure if there was something obvious that I’m missing.

The only thing I did was put the 2 seats in and it really stiffend the whole thing up a ton.

It was and a couple of 2x4s to make the frame. Im hoping to have a video of it floating out in a couple of weeks.

I haven't finished it yet but I do still have it. If I can get my new house built before winter this will be one of the first things to finish up.

Your right! Its probably $400 in material now. I'm hoping to have a video of this thing floating and catching fish but the end of next month.
