"Safe Rip Index" - What I've been doing for some time is marking the center foot and end feet of the grr-rpper with a black marker. The problem is that I have to be higher up to see the foot marking and parallax is an issue when because your body is to the left. The index is a great improvement, although it won't fix the parallax.

I have a Grr-ripper and use it all the time, but there is a glaring design flaw: it isn't very grr-rippy. Maybe it's because I have a contractor table saw and the top has a slightly gritty texture, it isn't super smooth like on a cabinet table saw with a machined top. A lot of people complain about the grip on these things. All the fancy do-dads and attachments are neat, but I wish it did better at performing it's main function.

Hi, my name is Chad. I do some woodworking and I have a question. The hardest thing I come across is pricing. I would like to know what you would charge ballpark it to make two boxes one was 25 x 22 x 22 and I 45 all the corners it has no end woodgrain showing at all then the second box is 25 x 30 x 22. This one’s not seamless sanded, flush trimmed round over all the corners, put a pre-stain wood conditioner and stained it I spent about 50 hours five very long days. What would you price that at? and if it would help to see pictures of it, I have some if you could let me know be greatly appreciated. I drank the kool aide and bought it finally. The one thing I failed to notice is when using this and cutting material 1 1/2" or thinner you can't use this with your blade all the way up. This goes against table saw safety basics which you should always run your blade all the way up so it's cutting down into the wood. Running the blade low tends to drive the wood back at you, not really a fan. I'll probably go back to my push sticks for most and use this thing for the odd thin stuff. It's just too short, kinda a big miss IMO

Here is why I think he is wrong about using a trusty push stick. He says the wood will wander away from the fence if the push stick is positioned too close to the fence side. He also says a feather board will not work because it does not control the cut side. Firstly a push stick should be positioned correctly on the stock and this is not the fault of the push stick but something a user gets wrong. Secondly a feather board absolutely does work but even better is a 2nd push stick to keep the stock down and against the fence. The riving knife is there to stop the timber veering off course, they work very well in doing this. Anyone who does not use a riving knife is at risk of kickback no matter what. Here is the problems with the push block. Forgetting to adjust the block when the rip width is changed. The push block requires full arm and body committal and if something goes wrong your hand and forearm will be over the saw blade which is very dangerous. I believe these push blocks have the greatest number of incidents reported among all types of ripping facilities. They are well known for being dangerous. People will watch this video and believe they are watching a safe product and as a result will get hurt or worse. Long push sticks prioritise fingers slightly above controlling the wood through the cut and this is imho the correct order of priority. Sadly most woodworkers prioritise control of the stock being ripped over keeping fingers. This is just wrong. I know you will most likely delete my comment and as a result even more people will get hurt. It’s nothing personal, but the product you are promoting is without any doubt highly dangerous and surely safety has to be more important than making a profit. Surely!?
