Thank you for your advice. I've hated T-track for the simple reason that you pay a lot for only 1 piece that's not that long and you need more than what they offer. I'm saving this video for later just for the amazon list. Also, you have a new subscriber. I'm still building my channel. I have a machinist square and I can say that you are absolutely right. It's perfect enough for wood working and I use it mainly to make sure my tools are square. The only thing I think I would add to your list is 1-2-3 blocks. Also very helpful. Thank you again and God bless.

I've had the head snap off of those Lionmax pocket hole screws when using an impact driver, which is a problem I didn't have with Kreg. But they do seem to work fine when driving with a drill at a reduced torque setting. Which I probably should have been doing in the first place anyway.

@@NuKraftWorkshop It's also a great place to pad out your clamp collection. I wouldn't recommend your most used clamps there, but for those massive glue-ups where quantity is more important than quality, they are totally worth it. I especially like the 6" and 12" F-style clamps. The spines on the longer ones bend too easily, but the shorter ones don't have that problem.
@NuKraftWorkshop
@NuKraftWorkshop 2 месяца назад
@cottrelr that is correct… Their longer ones tend to flex and that’s not good 😳. But if you’re on a budget it’s the place to go because we all know that it woodworking shop can never have enough clamps 🤟🏼🤟🏼

So far, except for the big tools like table saw, 14" drill press, etc that Ibought on fb marketplace, I've bought most of the rest of my tools on Amazon. To me, a square is a square is a square. I've got Framing squares, combination squares and speed squares so I've just never seen the need for one of those little squares. I probably should get a pocket screw jig some day but so far rabbets and mortises and tenons seem to have worked well enough. Have never bought T track...never seen it till now for that matter except on some modern contractor saw (Mine is too old to have it). I did get casters for my mini lathe table, but I think I got them from Lowes if I remember right. They're all the same size, but the two that lock have a different finish than the two that don't....but it was cheaper that way, lol. I'm looking at Amazon now and 20' of 4" hose from Powertec is $52.99, but 20' of the same hose from WEN is $38.67 so I'll have to give the powertec hose a hard pass.

Your hose comparison was not right. The Rockler hose you showed was a compression-type hose which is definitely more expensive than regular flex hose. One thing I discovered is that if you buy those offset hose clamps for flex hose, there is a difference between a right-handed and left-handed spiral. I bought a compression hose from Rockler but bought some cheap offset clamps somewhere else. They didn't fit. I tried them on an old flex hose I had and it worked. I bought the Rockler offset clamps and they worked on the Rockler hose. You can certainly understand Rockler wanting you to buy Rockler products all the way, it's business. For the most part, mixing products is not a problem, as you pointed out with the t-track accessories, but in this particular case, i.e. hose and hose clamp, it mattered. I have bought a number of Powertec products on Amazon and have always been happy. I got an Incra V27 miter gauge and bought a Powertec t-track fence to go with it. Works great!
@NuKraftWorkshop
@NuKraftWorkshop 2 месяца назад
I really appreciate the detailed comment and although I understand the differences between the hoses, for your beginner woodworker or someone growing their shop and starting with a basic dust collection system, flex hose is flex hose. Rockler makes some great stuff and I have tons of their products but there are certain things I just can’t spend my money on. And yes you have to be careful when mixing products. I started with powertec for my fittings and hoses so I will definitely stick with them when I decide to run permanent to workstations

@awlthatwoodcrafts8911
@awlthatwoodcrafts8911 2 месяца назад
@@NuKraftWorkshop totally agree about the beginner. You get what you can afford. I've done it. I got the compression hose after buying Rockler's Dust Right 750 mobile dust collector. The regular flex hose I had was a huge hassle trying to store in the lower bin so I bit the bullet and got a piece of compression hose and wow, what a world of difference. That's how I discovered the difference in the spiral of the hoses. I tried to use the clamps I was already using and had a devil of a time trying to make it work. I kept telling myself, it shouldn't matter which direction the spiral goes, just turn the clamp around. Nope. The compression flex hose is really nice when managing the storage of the hose. Once you pull out a normal flex hose, you're stuck with that length and it's like wrestling a Boa. When going tool to tool, a compression hose can be a time saver as well as a sanity saver.

I build furniture for a large midwestern retailer and I know way too many people that spend literally 1000s of dollars on just measuring and layout tools. Its rediculous. Where did you get the small parts organizer you have in this video?

They came from Home Depot but unfortunately they don’t have them anymore… I’ve had them for a couple years. I wish I would’ve bought more because they’re the perfect size 😐

How do you become an Amazon affiliate?
@NuKraftWorkshop
@NuKraftWorkshop 2 месяца назад
If you Google Amazon affiliates program it will pop right up… There are a few requirements you have to meet but they are pretty simple and I got a response immediately that I was approved. If you have a business, a website and a social media presence you should be OK. Good luck to you 👍🏼

If you are comparing Us made goods with goods made in China The Chinese goods will always be cheaper because the Chinese company can operate from a lower cost base Lower cost base cost of Labour ,land ,energy Lower enviromental standards

Of course they will be… That’s the case with anything we consume in the US. The purpose of my video was to help people like myself who don’t have money to spend on tools like woodpeckers and festool but still enjoy products that are of a good quality

The tool is only as good as the piece of wood. It’s laying on because if the wood is not straight, the tool is not gonna work correctly.
@NuKraftWorkshop
@NuKraftWorkshop 2 месяца назад
Partially agree…. You need both. Perfectly surfaced material is necessary for a quality finish but the tool has to perform also. A subpar tool on a quality piece of lumber still gives you subpar results. Appreciate your comments and thanks for watching!

Powertec is headquartered in the US and there are other American companies selling there products on there… but sadly, most of everything we consume ( more than likely including the device you watched my video on and the device you created your comment on) comes from china.
