Haha! Father Winter actually lives forever. I was shocked to find that out when I first played through a save file with aging on and the entire world had died. In that game, I made Father Winter get together with the tutorial lady (whose name I have forgotten).

I’m American and I’ve never had Chinese takeout on Christmas. We always have a homemade meal with family. This year I think my mother in law is making a ham for Christmas dinner.

Love you Satch! In the US, some families opt to get takeout because the Chinese food places stay open. This is because when they got big in the US, the immigrant Asian (not all “Chinese” food shops are run by Chinese families here…most are really Asian fusion places) population that ran them didn’t really observe Christmas and so it was a good way to get food if you - for whatever reason - flubbed on Christmas dinner (as seen in that one famous/infamous Christmas movie). Because Thanksgiving and Christmas are so close together here, and because there is so much pressure to get really nice gifts (especially if you have kids), many families opt to keep the rest of the holiday pretty chill - not only is takeout common, but so is going to the movies. My family did a mixture of things, but usually we reserved the traditional ham feast for when everything lined up and the whole family was able to get together…it was also a safe bet that someone was going to be announcing a new engagement or baby or some other big family news. Just wanted to give more context. I’m sure it’s different depending on the region too. I’m on the east coast and the US is huge and pretty culturally diverse. MERRY SHANICEMAS!!!!

Americans have big Christmas dinners too, but Chinese takeout is available for the people who dont want to cook, arent celebrating, or are home alone. Going to the movies is also something some families do, but not all. Turkey is usually Thanksgiving and Ham is usually Christmas, although we are so culturally diverse there are a lot of different feasts. It's cool.

I’m from the US, we often have dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but it became a tradition that Jewish families would order Chinese food on Christmas Day since they don’t celebrate the holiday and nothing else tends to be open!

I'm in America and my whole childhood we always had turkey for Thanksgiving and ham for Christmas. Now I'm the mum and last year we had some of the bfs friends over so I went all out on dinner. This year I'm making homemade pizza heh 😅 ( we don't have family close by, all the grandparents are either passed and most live states away) and today the 24th we are going to the bfs aunt's get together so we get the "traditional " Xmas dinner foods tonight 😂

Very very few people may get Chinese takeout on Christmas, Chinese take out is literally like the only thing open on Christmas for some reason. Most of us have a traditional meal.

English Christmas looks nice, but also similar to our Polish christmas [but ours are more catholic]. And the ultimate best thing about Christmas are pierogi with sauerkraut and mushrooms and borscht! Shanicemas looks adorable too.

idk about you but i'd be pretty excited if i got a fossil of any kind. those are pretty damn cool, so i think it'd be a great gift. even better if the person you're gifting it to is into dinosaurs and such

Shanicemas was still entertaining even if it didn't go as planned. 👏 around 6:50 Takeout sounds nice actually. maybe it depends on the area in the US. I live in Appalachia, and most of our stores/restaurants are closed on Christmas eve and especially on xmas day, so we cook. But I'm the type who doesn't care for xmas (or washing dishes) so I don't see why we can't just order a pizza and call it done. I'm actually dying of caffeine withdrawal because I forgot to buy coke at the store before it closed. Love the Coke outfit LMAO. Maybe I'll get lucky and a gas station convenience store will be open.

We do a huge Thanksgiving, but since Christmas is packed with presents and family gathering, we only do finger foods and snacks.

I’ve seen the cracker done both ways though the solo is more for with kids/if everyone gets their own cracker because nobody wants to be left out, I think it makes sense for EA to do solo or else single households wouldn’t be able to do Christmas crackers.

i'm sure there's a mod for it, but i wish there was a setting in the sims to set the sink as the kitchen sink, like how you can set a door to be the main entrance door, that would make it so sims only ever use that sink to wash dishes and don't go wash them in the bathroom. if there's a mod for it, i'd very much like to know about it

I dont think you can kill Santa haha BUT they have made it more difficult to kill any elder sim by woohoo at least thats what I found in my game.

And yes, i’m watching your video on Christmas Eve cause it’s a little fun for me ! 😂 (i’m not really a Christmas person ) Yesterday I played Winterfest and I have a mod for personnalities and attractiveness (don't remember the names). Father Winter gave many suggestive looks to my female sims, that was weird and he thought one of them was annoying and the other one was pretentious XD. During the Eve, one of my sim opened a present but I don’t know what happened, she died of laughter just after. Her twin brother who was in a flirty mood just before managed to save her by « seducing (the Grim Reaper) for the Life » of the sim or something like that. I was like Wtf is going on, it's Christmas ! (Winterfest for the sims lol) About Christmas crackers I didn't know what it was until your video. I like the concept ! I don't think we have that in France

Wait who eats take out for Christmas dinner?? Lol this is the first time I've ever heard of that. Maybe bachelor/ettes who stay home and don't have family or company during the holidays? Maybe they can't or don't want to cook. Idk but I've always had a big dinner like ham, chickens, veggies, stuffing, baked mac and cheese, etc. About the same things you'd have on Thanksgiving.

opening presents on christmas eve is pretty normal in europe. americans are the ones that have the habit of waiting until the 25th. but i guess us europeans just don't wanna have to wake up early to open the presents, so we open them on the night of the 24th
