You mentioned that they're water resistant, but you didn't mention that they keep you warm even when they're wet.

Since my family never gets rid of anything. I have wool blankets that are from WW1. One of my great uncles brought them home from his service. I think there is one that is WW2era also.

Thats one thing I love about wool, you cant wash em so they last forever with proper care and so I buy wool for gifts, started buying wool shirts after hearing stories of shirts passed down from grandfather's and the like, god Id kill for my grandfather's military wool blankets, probably ended up at thrift stores 60 yrs ago, I yearn for family threads because my family is scattered to the winds and I never had the nuclear family, Dad was a pos and grandpa died when I was 4, wait what we talking about, oh yeah, wool blankets are great lol

Lol used to door dash, I’d keep a pair of wool blankets on the passenger side of my car, one to set the food on and one to cover it to keep it warm.

They not only keep you warm, but they keep temperature with whatever is inside. Wrap a block of ice or bag of ice in it and it will keep it frozen ;]

I remember living next to an old man who turned his wool blanket into a winter coat. It's called a capote and I highly recommend making one for yourselves.

Edit: I found out what brand it is... Should have looked at the video title 😅 but these are sold out, so it didn't do much good to find out what brand it is. What brand is the one in this video? I've been looking around and they either seem to be super cheap, like too good to be true cheap, or super expensive like the Pendleton ones. I'd like one that's somewhere in the middle, with reasonably affordable price but still good quality and will last a lifetime

They're worth spending the money on. There are a some things that are worth splurging on. Custom Handmade Work boots, Quality Wool Socks, Quality Wool Blankets are a few.

No. Burlap maybe. Linen, Cotton, Lyocel and Rayon are the most flammable materials for blankets.

Fleece is better. Wool almost killed me while climbing a mountain. Fleece retains warmth while wet. Wool doesn’t.
@Stroke2Handed
@Stroke2Handed 2 года назад
You're wrong. Wool most certainly keeps you warm when it's wet. The only advantage of Fleece over Wool is that Fleece dries faster when it's wet.
