We have the only lightweight, backpackable wool sleeping bag on the market. This video explains how it works and why it is a better choice than down.
You can order here: www.woolsleepingbag.com/
Down is light but it doesn't work when wet. And that causes people to zip up inside a tent and worry about moisture build up, instead of enjoying the fresh air of tarp sleeping and having a warm, fuzzy feeling instead of damp/cold feeling from body moisture being held next to the skin. Down is also toxic and cruel to animals. DWR treated down is even worse and takes longer to dry out than untreated down.
The 20 Degree bag weighs about 3.5 lbs and the 10 Degree bag weighs about five pounds. The zipper usually goes under you in cold weather but in warmer weather you can place on top to get just the right temperature.
This wool sleeping bag is very versatile helping you be comfortable and sleep great in a variety of temperatures and conditions. It is kind of the best of both worlds and we are very pleased with the field tests during the recent nippy Fall weather. You can even use it on your bed at home by unzipping all the way and use as a quilt.
Customer’s have been asking for a Full Zipper Bag. Well here it is! This bag is the same design as our original Quilt Design. The only difference is the bag zips all the way up i instead of only the Footbox area.
The zipper is placed underneath you. There is no insulation on six inches either side of the zipper. This saves weight and also allows the sleeping bag to be used as a Sleeping Bag Quilt when you don’t feel like zipping up tight. You can also place the zipper on top during warm weather which is sometimes just the exact perfect temperature.

Extreme weight and volume for hiking. I'll stick with down and synthetic insulation except at home where it doesn't matter.
@LuckySheepOutdoorGear
@LuckySheepOutdoorGear 28 дней назад
That's a heavy statement. Four pounds is doable for 20F and below, as shown by hundreds of customers using them even for thru hiking. What you get for sleep quality, comfort and moisture control is worth a couple extra pounds. And volume works if you have the right shape of pack.

@@LuckySheepOutdoorGear sorry but the insulation is a blend of 60% cotton & 40% wool with a cotton outer lining, I'm pretty sure cotton is a big no for sleeping bags as it withholds water so could I ask why you've gone this route, also with the bag you put on you're web 5" loft at -5 Fahrenheit, could I ask how you come to this? You say it's the warmest on the planet yet wiggys do a -80 Fahrenheit synthetic bag so this would be nowhere near? Or is the temp ratings you have stated way out, sorry I'm just confused but before shelling out over $800 this has put me off abit, not trying to skate you just want clarification Regards

@LuckySheepOutdoorGear 3 года назад
@@Sign3dInBlo0d Actually the insulation is 100% Eco Wool batting. Not sure where you got the idea is has cotton. Yes cotton is a big no no for outdoor stuff. The only cotton on the bag is the shell fabric, which is now coated with beeswax which is a game changer. Beeswax treatment causes the cotton to be water repellant similar to how synthetic is water repellant. Yet it is still breathable. The 5" thick bag has no official temp rating. That rating is an estimate and so far noone has complained about it being off. Rather, it has been extremely popular and people use it simply to be very warm and breathable even in temps higher than than the lowest rating. Hope this helps clarify.

you don't say who makes it, or where you can get it. Zip on the bottom is seriously stupid and frustrating toi sleep in. I would think you need to re-think your design. Nice idea though.

No worries, we have tweaked the design and now it has a full zip. I need to do a new updated video. Here's the link. www.woolsleepingbag.com/

From $500-1000. Dang that is pricey.

Do you support sustainably produced products, made in America with fair trade labor? If not then responsibly made products will always seem like a ripoff to you, as you continue to support exploitation of the earth's resources, pollution from the petrochemical industry which makes most outdoor gear, and slave labor from products made in China. If you don't have sustainable values, there is no way our products will fit in with the other ones out there. Put your money where your mouth is or keep wearing your plastic gear.

@@LuckySheepOutdoorGear Dang that was aggressive. I promise you I live a much more sustainable lifestyle than you. I haven't bought a new product in years, I eat food that is thrown away, I source my heat from fire mitigation and local wood, I bike as much as I can. I don't think your core customer is going to be a real environmentalist but a wealthy wannabe. I cannot afford your product, I work labor jobs. No need to be mean.
@LuckySheepOutdoorGear
@LuckySheepOutdoorGear Месяц назад
@@jacobmeis1249 I did not mean to be mean, but only direct....which it seems you were with me. I understand some people can't afford and eco friendly alternative to the destructive synthetic/down sleeping bag. And I actually appreciate the mindfulness you put into living a sustainable life. But what kind of respect do you show for those making efforts to offer eco friendly solutions to the marketplace? Why would you not offer some words of praise and encouragement that something exists which matches your values? Instead you complain about the price. Have you seen the price of other wool made products? I know we live in a strange world where synthetics are subsidized...so it is heroic to actually free ourselves from the smothering confines of plastic culture.

@@LuckySheepOutdoorGear I think it is probably a great product. It is certainly competitively priced compared to many bags on the market. Also, I bet this will last, the modern down/synthetic bags don't! Maybe I should have just said I'm too poor on my hourly wage to afford this bag, maybe I shouldn't have said anything. Awesome that it is made in the USA! Too bad there on not higher tariffs on imported goods. Best regards!
