There seems to be a lot of government complaining about Coles and Woolies right now but nobody forces anyone to shop there......I have an Aldi close by but Woolies has products like cooked chickens and when you don't want to cook for the night a cooked chicken is very handy.......I just boil some mixed vegetables and my family is fed.

Agree about Coles & Woolies. Unfortunately Woolworths is my cheapest option in town but I do love there cooked chickens when we're in a hurry 😋

why not buy the 1kg block of cheese and shred yourself? its $9.90/kg vs $13.57/kg for the pre shredded, plus the preshredded has yucky anticaking agent on it. Same with the chicken thighs? why the smaller packet for $17.50/kg when the 1kg pack is $14.50 and just freeze the others for another weeks use. and the beef mince, why buy multiple small packets when it comes as a 1kg pack and is cheaper per kg to buy it in the bigger packet? so many ways you could be saving money in just this one shop! Price of groceries are too high to be shopping like this imo :O

Thanks for the suggestions. I do buy block cheese and shred what I need. The packets are for easy access for my son & husband. I'm not home most days and need to have a couple of meal options ready to go, depending on the time I have when I get home. Freezing meat means that I don't have that flexibility and when defrosted, I always use straight away. I do understand that all families are different and not everything works for everybody. We all do the best that we can.
